I don't get to work there - just park ...
The Airflyte isn't finished, but it's water tight and camp-able. Making it really nice will have to wait until my garage gets built.
I agree with you - your landlords are greedy/crazy!

$100/month. It was that, or sell that lovely Airflyte, as there is absolutely no place to park it at the place I'll be living for the next year.

I'm one of those other Airflyte owners. Looks like a very salvageable trailer! And $500? Great! The door handle and wings are worth almost that much!
Welcome!

I found room in a commercial building in Los Alamos. It's not cheap, but it's under cover, out of sight, and only for about a year. Then she'll go in a garage of her own.
And the owner has a '60 International Travellall in really nice shape that he'd like to sell me :-) 4WD and a matching shade of turquoise!

I'm in northern New Mexico so we're right behind you in terms of lack of water! Except for today! Rain, rain, and more rain. It's lovely! My wife said "it's like Portland!" I, too, fear the hail storms. I'm moving to Santa Fe and won't have a place to park my trailer, let alone something covered. I had to rent a place to store and protect it.

I painted the roof on our Compact. It was hard to lean out far enough to keep the spray gun perpendicular to the surface, but it's the roof - the paint job doesn't have to be perfect up there. There's probably a trick I don't know - like laying a board across to lean on. I did as much as I could from the front and the back, where it shows the most.

The stripe on my '64 Compact was bare aluminum.

For me, fishing has suffered too. I just missed the spring caddis hatch on the Rio Grande :-(
It's not really the trailer that's the problem, it's having a job. Got to fix that ...

Thanks! We're not going to paint it. It's got some scratches and scrapes and a few issues, but we're taking the position that it's only original once. It may get painted several years down the road, but not now. It's good enough!
We did go over it with a light rubbing compound and some wax.
I'll try and get a few close ups tonight.

That's the original paint! We did use a chip from it when we chose the color for the Compact.
You've caught me at a bad time - busy at work, busy at home. Trailer is going into a storage facility where I'll have access to it, but not as easy as going to the garage.
Anything in particular you'd like a picture of?

Trailer and tow vehicle are almost a match - my '63 Shasta Airflyte and my friend's '60 Corvair Lakewood wagon. Don't worry, the trailer isn't hooked up to the Corvair - that would be scary. Another friend has the tow vehicle I really want, a '60 International Travellall. Even has a Z stripe. It's just like the one below. Unfortunately, I've sworn off old vehicles with motors.
