Yes sir, that is the model and I did see the one you did earlier. Liked how nice that roof came out, but I am planning to keep the original skin if at all possible. I've been thinking that if I can't do what you've done with the truss above, I may try to run a 1"x1/8" angle aluminum to strap the cross pieces with. But I really want to add a little crown, so I'll probably try your paneling-down-the-middle trick.
Regarding the piece that the ceiling paneling slips into, mine is in bad enough shape that I wasn't 100% certain those were supposed to be that way...I may rebuild it a little bit differently and have the ceiling panels just screw into the "joists". I'm intending to run all new interior with stained/shellacked birch...hopefully mine will come out half as nice as so many on here have created.
Thanks so much for your answer, and I enjoy watching your progress.

Batten down the hatches, we're due for a BIG BLOW! High constant winds +35mph, gusts to +60mph, large hail, damaging winds, tornados, wall clouds, lions, tigers, and bears, OH MY! It will be a miracle if the tent stays up this time.

Got my fingers crossed for you. Sayin' a little prayer, too. Stay safe. My friend in IN said tornadoes were touching down all around her. Thank You, need all the help I can get!

Gingersnap, better start praying if you haven't already. Just so you know, we just had a squall line go through at some where around +70 mph gust. Stronger than last storm a few weeks ago. The front pole on the tent on left facing front of tent got blown inward off support tires. It was even double ratchet strapped to my car hauler deck and strapped to ground anchor. That pole blew inward and I dam near lost the front wall and left front panel of tent!! Anyway when I went out to rebuild tent during the squall (picture me jumping up off couch with PJ's and house slippers on, running outside with no coat), a huge tree limb fell out of the tree out front and just missed me. (widow maker) It reached from tree trunk to just a couple feet away from the front of the tent, your camper, and our car. (5 feet from my house) I have been sick the past couple of days so I probably won't go out again to do any more repairs on the tent during the storm. It's too dangerous for me and I don't need to get pneumonia or a caved in head just for the tent. Besides, it scared the crap out of me and soaked me to the bone. Camper still Okay for the moment but can't guarantee it didn't get wet cause I sure did while I was in the tent for tent repairs during the blow. Total Hail Mary tent repair but won't be repeated again even if it blows over! (Tent rated at 25mph) I hope you, hubby and kids are good. Wife won't let me go out again to kill myself, just to save the tent.

Well soup by now the worst should be over I hope you and everybody else made it through with little or no damage we had big time winds but everything looks OK will know more in the morning. If the weather holds off a few more weeks I hope to have my Shasta in the garage. I have to get my tractor done and the wife's surgery over then get her home which should be by the first of December if all goes well. Then hopefully I can have a little time to play between my nursing duties. Glad you didn't get hurt or freeze to death. Listen to your wife she is to young to be a widow.

WOW! Looking at your pics is like having a flashback! Only differences between yours and the one I just did are floor plan on back benches and the killer amount of black stuff on your roof. I don't think I've ever seen that much on the roof of a compact.

Tent still up this morning. Fresh wood work in camper is dry this morning all the way down to the saw dust on the floor. Lots of clean up needed on my property this morning but I feel very lucky compared to Kokomo, IN and places in IL. Counting my blessings this morning. My flu is worse this morning and I suffered a wrist injury somewhere in the process last night. Prayers sent out to all the tornado victims. Now scrambling to get ceiling and roof installed by next storm system in 3 days, but with fever and wrist this morning, it will probably be delayed for a few days again.

I stopped by for a visit yesterday and was "blown away" (pardon the pun) by how well the tent and trailer weathered the storm. Soup, you did an amazing job keeping your cool as the winds blew through. I would have been inside, pooping my pants, watching out the window as the limbs rained down. What a a crazy night. On my way back home I stopped by the last liquor store before hitting the bridge to Kentucky in an attempt to buy my favorite brew Fat Tire. What I found instead was this nifty little beverage. It seemed more than fitting so I had to have it. In honor of your valient efforts I toasted you and gave a nod to this week's clearer skies. Cheers! "Double Wide IPA: It's twister proof!"

LOL Doing crazy crap in the face of danger without any thoughts of my own personal safety. I owe it all to US Basic Military Training! LOL "RELAX....It's twister proof!" Yeah Right! HA HA!!! I think if I were you, I'd cut the front panel off the beer carton and put it in a small frame for hanging on the closet wall to be seen when you walk into the camper! You made me laugh... Back in the day when IN was cheaper on tax for booze, the revenuers (state tax police) would sit in that store's parking lot to catch people from KY and OH when they bought at that store in Indiana and went for the highway bridges to cross state lines. They would also make busts on 50 when they crossed into OH. They would make the bust as you would cross state lines. They would actually be charged with boot-legging. Used to read about it in the local paper all the time. They still do but usually bust the whole back of pick up full or trunks of car loads, not just a 12 pack or so though. They would also bust parents in parking lots of local schools, running KY or OH license plates on their vehicles for evading state road use taxes!! Good times! I'm still feeling flu like symptoms from being out during the storm, saving the tent. I SOOOOoooo need to get your roof on RIGHT NOW but, I really shouldn't be out there right now while I'm sick.

I feel for ya Soup. Believe it or not, here in So. Cal. we have heavy winds related with our thunderstorms sometimes. We have even had a small tornado or two in the area. The last one flipped a train over just a few miles from here. That's the kind of weather you never hear about in California. I have video of my entire front yard going away in a WHOOSH of sudden wind. We had 8 airplane hangars turned over upside down and I never did find my TV antenna.

I saw you fighting winds in one of the De Ville videos I think.

I'm going with a trussed metal cover 24x24 and 11 feet tall at the sides. I can have it delivered for $3300 and put it together myself. Then I'm gonna wrap that on 3 sides to start and eventually the final wall with barn doors.
