The problem is, that for every sucker that gets one like this for that price encourages the flippers to keep doing their dirty work. Thats what really lights me up.

Yep and nothing you can do will ever change that. As long as there are people out there who don't know what they are doing, there will be people to take advantage of them. It's just a fact of life and why sales is the highest paid profession in the world.

Most importantly you just hope of course that despite this happening, nobody endangers their life or others from neglecting to know the real condition of what they just bought.

Never follow a vintage trailer that you don't know. I find myself behind a few of them when I leave a rally. I get off the freeway and let them get ahead.

I see the trailer just sold for $16,400. Maybe not as bad as it looks. The vintage trailer market satisfies many needs as I wrote in an earlier post: 1] "park model" towed short distances to full service campground… 2] instant really cool guest house… 3] tiny house fetish. I just hope the man/woman/child who plunked down $16.4K bought what they thought they were buying. If so, there's one happy customer out there… if not, we may have a new member on VTT in the coming weeks: first post topic: "Help!… what the hell did I buy?!"

I sincerely hope the buyer is happy with their purchase. Cham makes a great point.

The lady who bought my little Glendale that I let go as a project trailer, and who I gave detailed and written instructions on how to restore, who I showed how bad the rot was.... dropped into our shop a few weeks after getting it and told my husband that it was all finished and she had painted it a nice green color. There is no way she could have even opened it up that quickly because the amount of goop on it was months of work plus the amount of rot was a few months work for sure. So even with her eyes wide open she didn't care and just slapped more goop on it. My biggest concern is that where I live we require safety certificates for cars to have certain standards. Nothing required for trailers. So their are some very unsafe trailers on our roads waiting to explode! I never follow behind an unknown old trailer.

Sometimes I think people truly don't know any better. The lady I bought mine from said that we just needed to coat the roof and replace the damaged ceiling panels inside. She is a friend of mine and my wife so she was being honest as far as she knew. Had I not taken the time to research this site and some others (including a day binge watching Mobiltec's videos, and yes I made a donation for my day's entertainment)I may not have understood what I was getting into either. I was able to tell there was more to be fixed than she thought, and realized there was even more than I first thought.
