Hey, I'm about to head in the same direction you did. All new EVERYTHING!! You really did a phenomenal job!!!! What did you use to rebuild all your cabinets? It looks like 3/4 birch plywood. Did you use 1X pine for the faces? What about cabinet doors?

I took off Thursday and Friday to prep the trailer for paint. Taped off: Primed: Painted: I can't tell you how happy/pleased I am with how it turned out. From what it started out as...........I never thought it would turn out the way it has. I set a date of June 1st, and although I have a few more items I am not disappointed at ALL!!!! I will keep everyone posted as the finalization takes place. Bunk, cushions reupholstered, pull out step, and bumper/tongue painted, finish the title process, and new emblems. Those are the items left on my list. Enjoy the rest of your weekends!!!

Love the black. Thinking about a similar scheme ourselves.

danrhodes, Thank you! We wanted to stick with the original "design" for the most part.....since my wife wouldn't let me do the Mystery Machine! HAHAHAHA. I did add the stripe to the go across the door to make it stand out less. And also added the black to the back. We want a black/white striped awning which I think will make it look really nice.

Sorry, I have been "quiet" for a while. I have been catching up on some other things lately. The trailer was inspected by the State Highway Patrol last Wednesday. I went to the courts today to get a judge to sign off on the title transfer. We are all set there. I put on the Shasta decals front/back this weekend. We also tried camping out in our driveway to see how our 2 1/2 year old did. Well..........he just wanted to play in the camper and then wanted to go in the house. So perhaps we will just have to cross our fingers and actually go camping where he doesn't really have a choice. This weekend I am ordering the final items needed to complete the trailer itself....pullout step, jacks, and upholstery fabric for the cushions. I might also attempt to build the bunk. Hope everyone is well! Have a nice afternoon!!

Hello everyone! Haven't been active on the forum for a while, though I have "stalked" in the background the past couple of weeks. Nothing new to really report. My MIL made the tiebacks for the curtains. (I will try to remember to get pictures up). Also spent the past few weeks stocking the trailer. I don't want to have to unload EVERYTHING EVERY TIME after a nice relaxing trip. So we pretty much got everything we would need for the camper including bedding, pillows, bath supplies, kitchen/cooking utensils/items. We have also finally booked our first camping trip on Aug 4th and 5th. It will only be at a KOA, but hey we have a 2 1/2yo to keep entertained/worn out. Lol. Still no new fabric for the upholstery, nor any progress on the bunk. I will hopefully get to those items after the first trip. Hope all is well! Have a great day!!

How well did the paint job come out around the windows? Trying to decide to jump in and reinstall my windows, or wait for paint

How well did the paint job come out around the windows? Trying to decide to jump in and reinstall my windows, or wait for paint danrhodes The paint job came out incredible in my mind. The j-rail is really the only place where I had missed some gaps with the gutter seal. I just made sure to take my time taping everything off and making sure it was down/straight. My thought process was......if I leave the windows out and then install after paint, I run the risk of every window having exposed butyl excess showing/coming out. This way, the edge got hit with the white paint as well. Hope this helps!

My only concern would be when it's time to reseal, but I would love to get it together, then worry about paint later

Been meaning to post, but have been busy catching up on things around the yard/house that fell behind due to the rebuild. We ventured out camping for the first time in the trailer Aug 4th and 5th to the KOA in Mohican. Overall it was a really nice excursion. We had a roomy shaded site. The amenities were nearby and our 2 1/2 yo loved it. It did take him 2.5hrs to fall asleep the first night. The next night it was only 15 minutes or so. We did some sightseeing of the area, but mainly hung out at camp and the pool. It was definitely worth the effort of the rebuild. We did leave on Saturday and stopped by the vintage trailer rally at Toodiks Campground in Loudonville (only 5 miles or so from where we camped). Got to see about 40+ vintage trailers. It was great. We had initially planned on staying there for the rally, but the sites were booked up and I wasn't sure if we'd be done with the rebuild by then. Next year perhaps. I will post pictures of the camping weekend once I get them transferred from the camera. We are venturing a bit further Aug 25th 26th, and 27th. Planning on heading to a KOA near the Penn State. Have a great day everyone!
