I was considering it but the price seems high. Any thoughts?

It's a bargain at $6 an issue!
I cannot think of one other place that has specialty vendor ads, rally coverage, and articles that are specifically targeted at only VINTAGE TRAILER's. Support the companies that support our hobby.

Funny that this topic should resurface. Before internet, I was a magazine-aholic. There was nothing I loved more than to curl up with a magazine of my favorite hobby or interest or news. One of those would have been a photography magazine. In my youth, I dreamed of having a published photo.
That being said, remember when magazines PAID for photos? Well Vintage Camper Magazine solicits photos. Now, I do not have a trailer worthy of being published in a magazine, but if I did, I would not give them my photos for their profit. True that everyone is a photographer now, but publishing my trailer in a magazine would do nothing for me. A professional restorer could benefit from the exposure.
You can find vendors, rallies and articles on the internet for free. They are soliciting pics via internet from trailer owners who already post on the internet. Why pay $6.

If you use your same logic, why would you expect anyone to contribute their trailer building knowledge, and experience to this GREAT site, for FREE?
Why pay for the cow, when the milk is free?
I would doubt that the trailer magazine is much more than a labor of love for the publisher, like most of the activities in this hobby. The vintage rally organizer's could not make much profit, but we are not picketing their events because "they are for profit". We should appreciate when things are free, but not expect "everything is free", again just my opinion. I see nothing wrong with "for profit", and know the market place will control "excess's". It would be my guess, that the cost to the publisher to put a paper magazine through a printer, through the snail mail, and into your hands is much more expensive than any post on a forum. It's just a old style, more expensive way to communicate, but it's still OK.
For the record, I have had my trailers photographed in Vintage Trailer Magazine, as well as shown on Flipping RV's TV, and Larry's video's, but I do not receive any money or credit, because I'm not a professional, just another "amateur" builder, having fun in the hobby.
No more FREE ADVICE from me, SusieQ, (LOL, just kidding).

I wasn't expecting everyone to see it through my eyes, especially you, John. But if you make money selling restored trailers, you are a professional. If your trailer is spotlighted in a publication, that's like free advertising for you. And this is a free forum. But I've never seen any pics of your trailers here, John. It is expensive to produce hard copy journalism. Internet is killing it. And I think my perspective is from a journalistic view. I worked as a stringer for a publication which sometimes furnished a photographer for me. It takes a lot of effort and work, more than just saying, "Send me your pics and they might get published in a magazine." Also, when I was about 12 y/o, my mom wouldn't let me buy a Dr. Pepper t-shirt because she said she wasn't paying to advertise for a company. I never forgot that, even though at the time it didn't make me happy, it now makes a lot of sense. I applaud the small businessman; I support local businesses and craftsmen by buying their products. But I'm not doing work for them for free. If the magazine would like to come photograph my trailer and write a legit story, that would be admirable and acceptable. True journalism. I get paid for my photography, even now, if it is done by request. Would you go work on someone's trailer for free if they were going to sell it for profit?

A passionate debate. I love it.
Does the magazine have page after page of interesting photos and articles? Or is it lean on content and heavy on ads?
$6 an issue for a yearly subscription would have to be a meaty magazine beautifully produced not a mom and pop publication. Know what I mean? More Life Magazine than Cub Scout Today.
So which is it?
On a side note, I really appreciate the info both SusieQ and John have shared with me. Free. If I paid $6 each time you help me I would appreciate you...just not as much.

You asked for thoughts. That's dangerous. LOL
48 pages of glossy photos and print sounds good. Too bad they don't offer an online preview sample, although you can buy the first six issues for $6 for digital viewing. It would have to have substantial ads to support the printing. It may not be pulling a profit. If not, it will disappear in 3-5 years when it is no longer a tax write off.

Any of the following: A bag of my favorite flavored coffee, 3 gallons + of gas, 3 20 oz. sodas or 3 2 liters, a couple of Coronas, 2 skeins of yarn, a bag of cat or dog food, two bundles of asparagus, 3 giant pomegranates, mantle for gas lamp, deodorizer for toilet, a t-shirt, numerous finds at the thrift store, and a partridge in a pear tree.

Ok, I can't argue with the Corona's! But I'd still buy the mag and some Corona's to drink while thumbing thru it.

Just so you know, I don't subscribe to it. It's one of the tools of late that has contributed to the excessive prices of trailers now. There is nothing in there that you can not find on the internet for free. Matter of fact, you can find more for free on the internet than you can in that rag. I agree totally with John...

So I have three passions not including my wife and family, fly fishing, woodworking and vintage trailers. Of the three the one magazine written by and for vintage trailer enthusiast is by and far the best, the fly fishing magazines all ads with very little content.
Do you know how much money is involved in starting a magazine especially one that is specialized for our hobby. IMHO 6 bucks is SOOO worth it. Support the hobby! And to the nay sayers do you watch flipping Rv's? How much is your cable bill?

I don't watch Flipping RVs or Flyte Camp. Seen em both once. My hands were tied behind my back and I was sat down in front of a 72 inch flat screen TV and forced to watch. Television has a way of prostituting everything it comes in contact with. Magazines are OK I guess. I don't get anything out of them is all I'm saying. They do come in handy in the privi though.
