On the Trotwood, is the cabinetry old or have you reproduced it? It really looks great, very cool. I can't wait to get back to work on my 49 Silver Lodger. I'll be building a completely new interior. still a few months till I recover from shoulder surgery. I'm back in planing stages now. Wayne

Heck ya Popped a top this evening. The front 1/3 of Dot has radiating water damage from a bad roof vent leak. It finally came off tonight. Feel like I'm making a bit of forward progress.

I used the original frames, added the curves and new skins.

Isn't anyone working on their trailers anymore? It seems like the board is turning into an extension of Craig's list.I like to see trailers that are actually bought and are being repaired. Regarding Bigbill's original post: Reviewing the craigslist ads certainly adds to the knowledge base of 'what not to do' in some instances… but it's in danger of becoming a pastime of negativity. Just sayin'…. I too would rather hear of (and see) Goshawk's adventures in curved plywood . Fine looking interior! Enviable!

There isn't a lot to it: Cut a 12" circle, quarter it, , nail/screw glue-your choice) them to the edge of your cabinet frame( 3-4 per bend). Take( and here is the secret) 2-ply bendable plywood(make sure which way want it to bend-there is barrel bend, and column bend(google it) and clamp/glue it to the framework... 4-6 coats of amber shellac. and your done. I did all you see in about five days total.

I saw something, and wanted to ask your opinion. I have not tried this, but I saw a trailer where it was successfully done.
Basically, the guy was re-skinning a curved upper corner edge on a wide cabinet over his counter. His method was to coat both surfaces with Elmers glue, let it fully dry, then install the skin onto the surface "in the correct position", then to re-activate the previously dried glue he used a standard household iron. He said the glue sticks just like contact cement after its heated with the iron. He said it's much easier to work this method with a large panel because the glue is not all wet, or in the case of using contact cement trying to keep it aligned while you position it. Any opinions?
I'm going to need to skin my Spartan cabinets with curved corners. Does the bendable (barrel, or column grain direction) come in different woods? I have seen it stocked at my lumber store, but it looks like they only have a bin or two.

I have never tried this method so I can't give any advice. As far as BP there are several species of it, , but most are either birch or poplar. BTW this is 1/8" two ply and vary workable

We've been steadily working on our 63' Trailblazer. Updating the electrical and fixing some water damaged areas. Hope to have her ready for a spring rally!

Most of us are out in the elements and this is the season for hibernating. It was 33 degrees this morning. I can't shellac. I can't paint. Can't tile. Can't even get the Jrail on. Heck, I don't want to even camp in this weather. As far as craigslist is concerned, I appreciate it when people post something they see that's worth considering. I like to know what different brands are selling for, what's worth restoring, and what I should pass on. CL is far from ideal but after thousands of miles covering three nearby states, without seeing a single camper worth stopping to ask about, I've come to accept that CL is the best game in town. Actually, it's the only game in town. By the way, I love it when you post pictures. It's a little extra effort but I really appriciate it. With that said, the cabinet work above is unbelievable.

Too darn cold to work on trailers here in Ontario (no garage). But I still have a few things to do on my trailer in the spring
