Isn't anyone working on their trailers anymore? It seems like the board is turning into an extension of Craig's list.I like to see trailers that are actually bought and are being repaired.

Yes sir. Every chance I get. Weenies need roasted over a hot bed of coals the coming summer. How will this occur if the Shasta is not ready to go

Mine has been moved into our car dealership for the winter for me to redo it. However with Christmas looming I am tied up. Prepare for a relentless play by play in January...

Last week I removed the bedroom paneling, old insulation, rear Marmoleum, and a few rats nests out of the new Spartan. I replaced the damaged lower right rear corner aluminum, and metal straightened the upper corner. It's now ready to replace the three damaged flat panels on the rear, as I now have a good straight corner to work toward. This trailer is being put on the back burner for a while until other projects are completed.
The Spartan trailer was taken to storage over the weekend, and I have the 1953 Silver Streak back for more new paneling and plumbing installation. The bathroom was paneled, ceramic tile floor, a claw foot bath tub, and the new toilet all was installed a couple of weeks ago. This trailer is coming along nicely. It will be going to Montana next spring and used a guest house.
By the way, it was "short sleeves" all day today, working on the trailer outside. I had to put up the E-Z-UP because it was too warm in the sun. Hope, I'm cheering you up. LOL
Looks like Friday might be a "rain day" off for us. I get my 40 hours "of trailer work" in every week. If I don't stay busy on trailer's, my wife will find me plenty to do around the house.

Have to admit to being a little slow since my early November sinus surgery. It's been a bit of a rough recovery and I'm not supposed to over do it:
Been tinkering on my 65 Loliner every day but nothing interesting... yesterday, the 7 way cord and break away, today was "install the tow chain" day along with run the cord for the maintainer. Not very interesting subjects for photos. LOL.

Doing a few odds and ends on Shasta. Waiting on my garage extension to be completed to really dig in. It's coming along nicely. Shingles should go on and opening up the wall to main garage hopefully this week. Concrete next week. They don't have to screw around with twisty nails, so I hope to be in by end of year. Then it's "on"

Big Bill, I hadn't really thought about it, you are right about all the posts of trailers for sale. I've posted a lot of them thinking that I may help someone else find their next project. Also, I think itis interesting to see whats out there, and to read peoples comments.
Yes, I'm still working on mine, just finished all interior carpentry and shellac. Next is brake controller, break away switch and 7 way plug. Going to have to wait til Spring to POR the rest of the frame.

I'm spending so much time reading all the "new find" posts I don't have time to get anything done around here.

Bill, I was thinking the same thing. No, I haven't worked on mine. I've been busy crafting, sewing, knitting and making those special gifts that nobody really cares about. But I MUST get my cushions finished because our 8ft tree is sitting in our entrance way because my living room has been overtaken by my cushion foam for the last year. And when I say sitting in the entrance way, I mean it takes up the whole space. We have to squeeze by it to get to the stairs. I was waiting on the zippers to finish my cushions but they came about a month ago, so somebody kick me in the rear so I'll get this done.

I'm still pecking away on the Trotwood but I'll have to do some learning to figure out how to post pictures here. OK got them posted but man that was not easy. As you can see it's a complete ( or will be) redo. It's a 49 Trotwood that was a complete wreck , all new frame, floor, etc I'm now starting the rear bedroom work and wiring , hope this helps!! Barry

Barry, I really like your curved cabinet corners. It was the curved corner cabinets that made me buy my 1957 De Ville, and also my 1948 Spartanette.
I'm curious, it looks like they do not connect to the ceiling? Is this a recessed area for indirect lighting? What supports the walls for structural integrity?
Is that a Coleman RV stove? That's what was in my 1948 Spartan, but I went with a more common Kenmore stove.

No not grumpy just not having a great week. I got my flu shot in September so this weekend I came down with the flu it doesn't cover the only reason that I am still alive is I felt to bad to die. I am much better today, still not able to go out in the shop but at least feel like seeing what everyone else is doing. I haven't been so sick since back in the late 60s or early 70s when we had a big flu epidemic that was actually killing people. You have to admit the above posts and pictures made for more interesting reading. I think a first time visitor would think we were just a bunch dreamers not doers. I personally enjoy seeing what other people are losing their mind trying to figure out. I didn't mean that no one should post ads I was just reminding us to post progress reports or lack there of.

Sorry I don't know how to do a quote thing, but to answer your questions. The Trotwood had a small piece of paneling above the cabinets I suppose because it was easier to add them in at the end of production than to get the curve correct while building. Now then yes I am planni9ng some type of indirect lighting with probably screening in front of it. I am afraid the LED lights will be to reflective off the ceiling. The walls are attached to the side framing so they are plenty strong. As far as the stove goes, it's the original 'PREWAY' stove, rebuilt and powder coated, along with the old MARVEL refrigerator. It too is a complete working rebuild and it is the old one that doesn't have the 'pistol grip' on the opening mechanism. I will try to add a couple more photos if I can do it again.
