Actually, I enjoy the fruits of other's labors in all the latest posts, especially since they keep us up on what's happening to our previously unwanted, semi-rotting aluminum covered hams, showing the escalating asking prices, and warnings of adulterated 'lipstick repairs'. I see value in our fellow searcher's revelations for several reasons; as a way to help us evaluate what we're looking at before we jump into something we might not be prepared for which could cost us both big bucks and also strike a blow to our perceived notions of our own abilities when we buy a 'ready to camp' and realize it's a frame off, which can be a 'soul-cruncher', and selfishly, since I knew what I was getting into from the get-go and Sweet Christine's opinion of camping does not extend beyond Holiday Inn, that the simple fact that our searcher brothers have also pointed out to her ex-banker mind that my $200 purchase could produce 20 to 30% profit when I'm done with 'my little project' ( my labor doesn't really count because I'd be building something or other anyway), and has actually RECENTLY been suggesting very enlightened suggestions as to what she would like to see as we have gone from rotso to new build... for that alone, I hope eyes will continue looking into back yards, alleys and junk yards and our Craigslist scopers will continue to post. I see it as a valuable community service. And someday, if the fair winds blow our way, she and I will join some of you all at a campground (ham ground) where other like mindeds will convince her that spending a week end in less than 100 SQ feet can be a beautiful adventure. So, searchers, Onward through the fog. By the way, a number of those finds would be in my driveway, except that, as they say, "I have to sleep, sometime". Thump.

Sorry I don't know how to do a quote thing, but to answer your questions. The Trotwood had a small piece of paneling above the cabinets I suppose because it was easier to add them in at the end of production than to get the curve correct while building. Now then yes I am planni9ng some type of indirect lighting with probably screening in front of it. I am afraid the LED lights will be to reflective off the ceiling. The walls are attached to the side framing so they are plenty strong. As far as the stove goes, it's the original 'PREWAY' stove, rebuilt and powder coated, along with the old MARVEL refrigerator. It too is a complete working rebuild and it is the old one that doesn't have the 'pistol grip' on the opening mechanism. I will try to add a couple more photos if I can do it again. Your Preway turned out spectacular. We have the same model in our Airfloat, and it'll be restored as well. Love to see more overall build pics. Nice work.

John the 47 Trot that Bob and I picked up was the same way. Cabinets stopped short of the ceiling. Must have been a trait of the company. Ben that is gorgeous... I love it. Love the sunburst effect you got with the grain in the paneling.

The Preway retains it's authentic look but the inside cavity has been updated to include a microwave instead. I just can't see running an oven in a small trailer like the Trotwood, and when ever possible updated amenities are the favored choice. Will try to post more pics tomorrow.

Your trailer restoration is looking good.

No not grumpy just not having a great week. I got my flu shot in September so this weekend I came down with the flu it doesn't cover the only reason that I am still alive is I felt to bad to die. I am much better today, still not able to go out in the shop but at least feel like seeing what everyone else is doing. I haven't been so sick since back in the late 60s or early 70s when we had a big flu epidemic that was actually killing people. You have to admit the above posts and pictures made for more interesting reading. I think a first time visitor would think we were just a bunch dreamers not doers. I personally enjoy seeing what other people are losing their mind trying to figure out. I didn't mean that no one should post ads I was just reminding us to post progress reports or lack there of. BigBill, Sorry to hear that your were sick.
I'll wait to pick on you again when your well, LOL.

Still sick but better and that's OK you can pick on me anytime you want. I've been abused for years so I am used to it. The Boss tells me there is a difference between abused and spoiled, wonder what she could be saying.
