If it does, then count me in as a horrible owner so you won't be alone.

That's the same one with the clear lense, isn't it? I was looking at it first but then I thought about the bug attraction to lights. I think the clear one looks better!

Thanks, it is the same one with the clear. I was gonna run a secondary switch inside but decided what the heck. It won't be on that much

Just had the switch discussion with my hubby. It's handy to be able to turn it on inside before you go out, but I don't want a visible switch inside. I do have an outlet that the PO installed and I suppose I could put one there since I've been trying to decide how to cover the outlet when I remove it.

I saw a really cool inexpensive light a guy used for a porch light. He took a running light off of a semi trailer... turned sideways. I think it was called an international harvester cab light... Here is a photo.. you can pick them up for about $10 on ebay if you search. I think its a great inexpensive idea

As we all get a little older, and a little less agile, "safety is an important consideration" while camping.
My wife fell in our newly finished trailer while camping last weekend in San Diego, and broke her foot "again".
You can have a nice porch light and still be "vintage looking". You just have to look for something that is period correct looking and fits in the space on your trailer. The vintage Bargman lighted handles are nice, and you can still find screw base 12v bulbs. You want something with 5 to 7 watts, "not too bright". I have adapted many different kinds of automotive and truck lights for porch lights. My son bought me some turn signals while at a swap meet in Belgium that had glass lenses. Specialty light bulb stores have a great selection of sizes and different wattage bulbs. You can also find amber bulbs, or paint the glass on bulbs with translucent paint to change the color.
I also like to install an extra license plate light under the trailer, above the "pull out step" to light the step at night. It does not need to be bright, just enough to outline the step in the dark.
Both of these lights are turned on together by a single switch mounted inside the trailer near the door.

Yeah, I like the more vintage ones myself. I ended up with two of the Bargman lights on my 65 Little Dipper, so will keep them. There are all sorts of vintage/retro lights that would work for a porch light.

Thanks everybody. I'm going to add the light. I really like the lower profile of the Bargman lights. I'm not adding it for the wow factor. Also, with my luck, anything that sticks out is bound to get broken. I think I'll go with the clear lens, the one in my cart that I originally picked out, and look for an amber bulb.
John, I really like the step light idea. If I keep adding stuff, I'm never going to finish this trailer!
Now my only decision is switch inside, or out.

My two cents, inside - no question. You'll let more bugs in fumbling trying to get that light on in the dark, also what if you just want to see what that noise was outside the trailer? Plus, it's dark, your going inside your trailer, you have to turn the light off before you even get inside.

I plan on hanging some of these up outside, I also want to convert them to LED, and you can power LED lights with a 9-12 volt battery, hook up a rechargable battery like from a drill into the bottom of one of the owls with a switch or light sensor, and you dont need to run a cord! not sure why someone doesn't sell something like that.
