Like Larry says over and over don’t throw anything away. Well I am starting the wrap on my 1970 KiT companion. So because I have kept everything it has been easy to pull the old panels out for measurements and also to remind myself how everything goes back together. I am two years in since I took the beast apart down to the frame.

So because I have kept everything it has been easy to pull the old panels out for measurements and also to remind myself how everything goes back together. I am two years in since I took the beast apart down to the frame. I tried to use my street side radius panel as a template and discovered today that it turns out that it was just too much of a mess and I have to redo what I did - it's all wrong. ESPECIALLY the window. I have no clue how that happened but it did. But I'm trying to look on the bright side, since what I did is much more intact than the original piece, I was able to actually hang the upper skin panel back up and use THAT as a template on the actual trailer and not on the ground so I started cutting the new new panel today and will pull the new framing I made off and attach it to the new panel. Then rinse and repeat with the lower metal. Sigh. At least it's seeming to go much quicker this time. I just feel a little like a dummy, but I'm at the point where I just took a deep breath and moved ahead.

The old metal skin can be used as a template as long as you remember that you are dealing with the total profile including curbing.

Hey Barbara, I took mine apart now years ago too. Mine is piecemeal so the main part is going ok. Now I need to remember how the Gaucho bed was made, lol
I took photos but you’ll die laughing, they must be on an older phone, I never got around to saving them to a computer, so now need to be COLUMBO, and track them down.
my organization skills don’t exist. I’m guessing if I go back for the 4th time and watch Larry’s Gaucho build, I can figure it out.
I saved the parts to it but they are scattered around my garage that’s packed with all my junk. You could lose a Herd of Elephants in there, lol.

Hey y'all! Since Patreon pulled the Community function for Larry's class here's a place that we can chat and keep up with our projects! This thread is open to anyone that wants to jump in! But I wanted to make an easy spot for us to update each other on progress and share resources.

Hey fellow students, it will be a miracle if this post works.
I can't believe all the steps to just post one photo, there has to be an easier way, LOL
I have been working on this for an hour or two to get to this phase.
This was one of the first photos I took showing how they mounted a window AC and did a horrible job, tilted up in the back nothing to shed water, etc.
This is a really nice little trailer that would have been in so much better shape without this mess.
They also repaired the roof at some point and boy howdie!!!
I have a photo I will share, in the front, they overlapped the front piece on top of the top section which if any water got it, would run into the camper instead of shed water.
What a moron that did that, LOL

Let's try this again. I am struggling with posting but another attempt.
This was a shot of my 1967 trailblazer where they mounted a window AC (poorly) I might add, tilted inward instead of down to shed water. long story short, rotted the back out. If this works, more to follow
