I retried the places on the thread about finding 1/8" plywood and scored with this place... catawbahardwoods.com/Nebu NC is 50 miles from Asheville nc.
22 sheets for $375 verses $1400 for 1/8" maple outside Boston and $1380 for birch in SC. These were the only 2 places I found with 1/8" plywood on the east coast. So I just drove 400 miles round trip to Nebu NC.
They took it on consignment (as best as I can tell) from somebody who ordered it for a customer that never finished the transaction. I saw well over 100 sheets. The man I dealt with was Brad.
Let's reminisce about all the time I found ash 1/8" panels over the last 8 years....
Okay, we're done

That is incredible luck. Even 5 years ago, ash was non existent out west. mobiltec used oak and I just replaced all mine with birch.

Yep this place has been mentioned a few times now over the last couple years on here. I bought some a little over a year ago and some more a couple months ago. Even mentioned it a few months back and you said you called them. Btw, they have a few thousand sheets of this stuff. They had made a deal with a cabinet maker that went bad.

When I called them A few months ago I asked if they had Birch. It never dawned on me that they would have ash. Nobody has ash. He said today this was the only type of wood they had in 1/8 inch. They had other options when you called?
I asked why they were selling it for such a low price and he said they’re trying to unload it. Apparently only handful of vintage camper fanatics are using it these days :-)

But I didn't ask to look at it or get into it any further as I wasn't really interested.

Is the plywood the original wood core type not MDF? Is it A1 grade?

Is the plywood the original wood core type not MDF? Is it A1 grade? I'm not sure of A1 grade but it appears to be wood core. There was no label on the pallet. I looked. The truth is, this is the only choice in NC in 1/8". I can't even pay $65 a sheet to have 20 sheets milled.
One could say this is the top grade 1/8" ash on the entire east coast. Maybe in the entire country. LOL

I think it was first mentioned in this thread by debranch. Towards the end I had posted a picture of the inside of my camper. vintagetrailertalk.freeforums.net/thread/1273/birch-plywood-decent-panelsIt is definitely from China. It is wood core. It even has some sort of fibers in the core as well. It has worked well for me. I got it to curve very well. I did have some pieces that had some glue or filler on the surface that didn't take the stain well. But wasn't an issue for me. I just placed those pieces where it lined up with a window cut-out or something.

I missed that thread completely. What type of finish did you use? I didn’t see it mentioned on that thread.

I stained it with a couple different Minwax stains I mixed up to get close to the original color. Then finished with 3 coats of of General Finishes Arm-r-seal satin. Easiest finish I have ever worked with. You can wipe it right on with a rag or sponge. Turns out very nice.
