I just saw this video. Don’t know if it’s been posted before but I’ll definitely be building a rock guard. youtu.be/qPpqUWG6gTU

With jalousie windows up front a small rock doesn't cause a disaster if it cracks one pane. With that said, I've towed this camper over 10,000 towing without a crack. I think it has to do with the long bed and height on our Toyota.

My airflyte frout outer windows were both broke when I got it, they were a pain to fix. So I think about a rock guard, but I do like that I can see straight through the windows while driving so I would need a clear one. nccamper that new skin with your paint job looks so nice and shiny! I cant stop looking at it

My rock guard panels are a corrugated plastic (or FRP, not sure), 3 panels. Lowes (and probably Home Depot) has something similar in clear, in the roofing section. If I get tired of my painted ones I think I'll get the clear ones, that's a great idea.

I also really like the view into the camper and out the rear window while towing.
I guess the shield during heavy rain keeps the drips/leaks to a minimum. But at a little over 6' tall a rock guard may obstruct the view from the dinette.

I’ve been real happy with the front awning / rock guard combo I made. I posted a pic of it in the “awnings “ section a few months ago. (Sorry i dont know how to make a link)

Am I the only one that wonders about how sound that camper was to start with? I know air pressure can be great but to push the sides out? Makes me wonder if it didn't have some hidden damage to it to start with.

Thanks, this is exactly what I want to build. How did you attach it? Is it hinged and held up with arms when camping?
