Very sad. And disturbing. What happened to the people? I can't read French.

I understood that much, but where did they take them? Where did they go with their children. I wanted to cry when the lady was dressing the toddler in her coat and the toddler was crying. And I wanted to cry again when the claws smashed the trailers. Reminded me of a bad sci-fi movie.

That's all I know because I don't know French either. It just popped up on a search. Believe it or not this was one of the results of a Laurel And Hardy search.

Very sad. And disturbing. What happened to the people? I can't read French. Bingo! I think that they are Romanian, my best guess.. France is falling again, without even firing a shot. That looks to be an older clip though. The traveling caravans have made a come back in the last 20 years. Sad? Perhaps, but most are there by choice. Better choice or bad choice, at least they have the freedom to make one now...

I thought the sad part was the Police rounding up the people like animals and destroying their homes, not that they were living like that. After Katrina, many people did not understand that the people living in poverty who lost everything didn't just lose a run down house and crappy stuff, they lost their homes and were separated from their culture, families and way of life. I'm sure it's hard for Gypsies to find places to congregate legally, and I'm sure there are other illegal activities, but the inhumanity of the whole incident was disturbing to me. OK, Larry, I guess you gave fair warning. Now back to happy, light-hearted movies.

Hey Susie Q.. I am sorry, it appears that by mistake I quoted your note. I thought I quoted Mobletec.. his note about "they apear to be gypsie being evicted". The caravans.. I am sorry..you had a very nice note, and then my note looks like.. "Hey look at the bums"... (sad me) I would never make light of those in need or even different from myself. So just so you know..I kinda mix it up wrong.

So just so you know..I kinda mix it up wrong. No apology needed. I didn't really take it that way. And they were probably use to being "run off" because they were gypsies. And Larry, you are right. It does make one think. Having lost everything in a hurricane (not Katrina) and being homeless, I have a inkling of how that feels. But it also makes me think that that what is considered unlivable conditions now were a common way of life in the 30's, 40's and even later. Reminds me of The Grapes of Wrath. Now, if a family is living without certain creature comforts, they have their kids taken away.

As governments get larger and more powerful all over the world we will see more and more of that type of thing, as people give up their rights so they can be provided for. This has been happening through out history for thousands of years and it seems people never learn.

IMHO It's not "kinda" sad. It's very sad and pathetic. It is happening all over Europe now. Where will it happen next??? Here is an English version in the U.K. of a BBC Documentary; (Speekie English Version) www.youtube.com/watch?v=8PIg39Z7gLwThey need better Barristers than they have but just can't afford proper representation. Totally Sucks. My county just decided to change my street name and my address number. So now I have all the expense and time lost to convert all my drivers license and everything else that had my 45 year old address. Big Brother and the man stickin it to the small people till they can't stick it anymore. What a great idea. Make a lot of homeless people out of people who had roof over their heads already. They should build a properly zoned and constructed camp to move the caravans into instead of destroying them and making a bunch of families homeless. Just sayin'

You don't understand Soup its like the guy who raised hogs for 50 years then a guy bought the farm next door divided it into 5 Acre plots built new high buck homes homes for people that wanted to live in the country. After all the homes were sold the owners took the pig farmer to court demanding he stop raising pigs because they stink. We are turning into a world that says you live at my standards or get out. The tragic part is it is happening everyday right here in the good ole USA. A friend of mine owned a farm that was zoned industrial he sold it and they are building a factory now all the people that bought property next to the zoned industrial park are trying to stop farther construction even though they moved there after the zoning was changed.

Bill, That's why I live in a run down country hood with abandoned homes on each side of me. Usually no one F's with me here. Well It might have something to do with the "iPac" warning signs that are posted too....
Bill that pig farmer story is horrible. Neighbors suck. Except in campgrounds!
