I remember seeing a thread on ordering Colombia Forest Products 1/4" birch plywood from Home Depot, but I can't seem to find it any more. I'm getting ready to start a trailer project and need to order the materials. Has anyone gone through the special order process at HD, what were your thoughts on the quality of the Colombia Forest Products plywood?

I think I might have been the one that you are talking about.
I ordered the CFP Radius Plywood. It is VERY bendy, so much so that I didn't like it for this application. I don't think it has enough rigidity for a 7 ft span across the trailer. I did order it from HD, you just have to find the right person that knows how to place special orders with CFP.
I ended up finding a $$ 1/8 plywood (which I was told was CFP, but I don't think it is) at a specialty wood store about 3 hours from me. I paid 61 bucks a sheet, but in the end I was happy with it. It made the bends and looked great on 1 side, and not so bad on the other.
Based on what I saw from the 1 sheet I ordered, I WOULDN't recommend it from a trailer that is this wide. Maybe a 4ft wide or 5ft wide teardrop (I have build those too).. but for a canned ham, I just don't think it's rigid enough.

Following some of the ply wood threads I changed up my search techniques and found a nice local source for Birch plywood. http://schallerhardwood.com Nice list of specialty ply woods.
Located in South central and southwest southern Mo.

Were you able to get nice birch plywood from Schaller Hardwood? I am having a hard time finding it in NE Kansas. One of their yards is in Tulsa, OK which is 261 miles. I would drive down there if they have the real thing.

Are you trying to replace 1/8 inch paneling with 1/4 inch plywood? If so it's not a good idea for a number of reasons.

I know the roof panels are 1/8" to form the curves of the roof. I live in South Florida and finding sources outside the big box stores is tough.

I have called all over Kansas and other places that are referenced on here. No luck. If I could find out the name of the supplier that the stores that do have it get it from I could maybe figure out a way to get some. I'm willing to drive to pick it up if I knew where to go. Not ready to install paneling yet but would like to get it shellacked and ready. It's something I can do inside when it's too hot outside to pull screws.

I drive out of state to southern California to get mine. It's a place called Peterman's Lumber. petermanlumber.com/ This is the kind of lumber yard you want to look for.

I just ordered 12 sheets of 1/8" natural birch plywood (all they have) from Schaller hardwood at $22.50 per sheet. I will pick it up in Springfield, MO which is a 4 1/2 hr drive for me. I feel lucky to find it as I have called 30 lumberyards in Kansas and Nebraska with no luck. Most people I talk to act like I'm crazy. So hoping Schaller has good quality and what I need. Will let you know when I get it. They said they would not get any more in for at least 6 months.

Shan Delee, you're somewhat close to my locality. I was going to offer to order some and go fetch and split the load, but you beat me to the punch. Did you order 12 just to make sure you had enough or will you have excess full sheets? If you find the quality is what is needed and have surplus, maybe I could help defray your cost. It would give me something to start with until they restock. Springfield, Mo. isn't a bad drive from here.

They have several locations and I think the main headquarters are in Poplar Bluff, which is where Springfield is shipping them in from. Luckily I am not to the point of needing them yet. My trailer is completely disassembled. I did check their cost on 1/4" which I could use for the walls since they sit on top of the floor, but at $44 per sheet I think I will try to do all 1/8". I'll try to remember to let you know when they get more.

Sounds good. If you're going to need approx. 8 more....and at this time I'm not sure how many I'll need but maybe we could benefit from ordering as a common load and split fuel costs. Sounds like I'm probably a little bit south of you, but on the Missouri side.
