Soup, there aren't actually any cuts on the window since it's a flat surface. In that situation, you do get to bash out the lumps, but they end up flat eventually.

Gary I wasn't bashing your window work, that works well in there. I was using it as an example as what not to allow when doing a front or rear curve area do to the metal stretching it causes and you can't afford any stretch there at all. In a flat straight area it doesn't matter much how a person folds it over.

If you go to a HVAC store they sell a tool caled a crimper and it works like the harbor freight tool but its a hand tool that likes plyer's. They use it to put Duct work in. it has three blades on one side and two blades on the other side that forms the metal in a "W" shape and will help you make the curve without cutting the metal. it shrenks the metal. I'll try to find a picture and show every body. look these up Klein Tools 5-Blade Crimper

The tool he is talking about creates the end of a stove pipe so that it slides inside the next one. It would help to make a bend if properly used. They also used to make one that rolled along the metal something like a can opener that made the same crimps.

What happens is it shrinks the metal which is what you need to make the curve. Over on the Garage Journel their is a guy who go by MP&C and he shows you how to make these tools instead of buying them. I've never seen anything like this guy when it comes to metal work. When he replaces rusted out metal the panelis perfect and he he doesn't even use bondo.
