As soon as I can figure out how to post pictures (without PB) I will put some up, of a trailer I am interested in. Looks like 50's era, owner thinks it's about 21' long, pictures appear to show good headroom for my tall family. I am attempting to load pics from Shutterfly but so far, no success.

Thanks, actually I've been here a while! But, I don't want to give my cell phone to Yahoo to set up a FLICKR account. I did set up one on Shutterfly. Does anyone know how to upload pics from there?

I created a FLICKR account. it wouldn't let me see "embed" until I logged out and then logged back in.

Wow, very cool trailer. Looks like it's built like a tank. Aluminum studding in the walls and ceiling?

I think so, just going to see it this evening. If the shell is not in good condition, I think it's a loser - too hard to repair, at least for me. The owner says it appears to be the heavier grade aluminum, more like aircraft metal. I am curious about how it was constructed. Having a really hard time finding anything at all online about this manufacturer or these trailers. I was hoping someone on here might have some insights.

Early 50s from the aluminum pattern. Thousands of trailer manufacturers started producing park models in the 50s due to the demand from the government for affordable housing. Most of them failed and you won't find much documentation on them. What? The guy couldn't go out and measure it? Geeesh some of these sellers are lazy as heck.

I think this one was a case of he didn't really want to sell it. Was maybe going through the motion of selling it to please his girlfriend. I think it would have cost 10K to restore, as a minimum. Had a neat sliding door pass-through from bed/bathroom to kitchen/living area. Too big of a project for me!

KathleenC, would you happen to have any more photos of that Travelite trailer? I live in one that looks remarkably like that and would love any additional info you had about the trailer, or perhaps have a way I can contact the owner? Thank you!
