I know some people are getting acceptable results with spray paint. I’d like to see some rattle can results if you have any to offer.

1970 Shasta Starflyte. Bare aluminum and the only rattle can painting was everything in blue. Valspar was used:1968 Yellowstone. Everything painted red was done with Valspar rattle cans:
This is a 1938 Runlite reproduction that I created and it's second paint job was done with rattle cans. I used Rustoleum Gloss Black:

I can't even imagine how many cans it takes...Does anyone have a count of how many cans it took for your projects?

The only thing I’m liking about is that a hvlp gun would be so much faster but with all the technology of spray paint now a days I think the durability would be close to Rustoleum or ace but not an auto paint. I painted an aluminum boat with auto paint once and something was wrong in my mixture. It would scratch off real easy, I went back over it with krylon and it was tough as all get out. Plus I could touch it up in seconds with a spray can.

I bought a '76 Six Pac truck camper that was almost mint condition inside but the previous owner had some professional graffiti artists paint it for some ungodly reason. The artwork was cool, it just didn't exactly fit on a camper. It did not take that many cans, if memory serves it was under 10 cans of Rustoleum 2X in forest green. I decided to keep a section of the artwork that I thought looked cool and It came out really good.

Thanks I loved it because it was a '70s camper and it is extremely hard to find one for a short bed truck. They called it a Six Pac because it fits in a 6 foot bed. I wanted to use it when I drove a long way to pick up a restoration camper but I would almost have a panic attack every time I lifted it up on those 40 year old jacks to put it on the truck!

It had fell over on the jacks in a storm and destroyed the front corner. I patched it up and used it at the hunting camp. It was perfect for that.
