In the interest of scope creep, I'm getting ready for complete floor replacement, so the cabinets are all coming out. I've got a typical Ward stove, and even looking up from the underside and down under the bottom plate of the oven I can't for the life of me tell how it mounts to the cabinet- no screws, no brackets, nothing. What's the trick?

Wow, that's even a different stove than my 58 had. (Princess)
Lift the stove top and there should be 4 holes on either side near the top. Most of the time, the stove is anchored with screws into the countertop. You only have that on one side, but there might be something in the thin board next to the dinette. Will the bottom piece below the oven door come off? There might be screws behind that? Also, some stoves anchor just inside the oven door, into the cabinetry.
I hope this helps. I've never worked on a Ward stove before. I'm guessing the screws are under the stove top. Let us know. Also, the stove won't fit thru the door of a Cardinal. Prepare to live with it for a while...

Ours didn’t fit through the door of our ham style Compact. Fortunately, we did a frame off rebuild and we just slid it off the floor.

This thread got me pretty freaked out as I just closed in the front of our trailer. I went and measured my stove. It's only 17 tall, by 20 deep. You must have much bigger stoves in the American trailers or smaller doors? I wasn't able to measure my door because I am at home, but I know it's bigger than 17 wide. My front window here at home has a frame opening of 22x72.. so I should be good to go..

I think the Princess was 20 x 22 or similar. Cardinal doors are 19" if you remove the trim. I enlarged my door to 22". No problema...

Thankfully my front wall is off. I'd assumed they'd mount from the bottom somehow, didn't occur to me that it might hang from the side- I'll see if I can get the top cover to lift off.
That Cardinal door is definitely tight. A PO installed a dorm fridge in place of the icebox (I'd give anything to have that yellow icebox back), and removing the fridge through the door involved removing the door and hinge brackets, all the screws that held the back cover on, and holding it in mid-air while snaking it through sideways to clear the power cord above the dinette base. I hope they measured carefully before they bought it.

Mine had one screw going in the side cabinet. I lived up the top and mine was on the front left. Then I also had 3 screws going down in the bottom of the actual stove.

The stove top lifts up, you don't have to remove it. Or maybe a Ward stove is different...

Mine had 4 carriage bolts through the bottom of the oven through the wooden cabinet base. I loosened the nuts from below, through the floor-level cabinet. As for removing it, we had to take the oven door off to fit it through the doorway. Unhook the springs from below and pull the 2 cotter pins at the bottom hinge. It should slide out and come off entirely. Hook the struts on the cutout holes to keep them from pulling through completely and falling into the oven (then you have to fish them out. Not fun).
