I've been in the preplanning stages for hosting a St Patty's Day rally the weekend of March 14, at FDR State Park in Pine Mountain, GA.
My initial thoughts are to call the rally "Luck o' the Irish Bingo Rally" and plan for us to play lots of Bingo games on both days (Fri & Sat) with prizes as usual. (If so inclined the guys can go fishing while we play. hahaha) Of course we'll have the usual pot luck or two and whatever else we come up with.
Please visit the glamping forum for more information and to let me know if you'd be interested in attending.
I now have commitments from 6 people. After 4 more I'll be finalizing the plans to make this rally happen. Someone asked what else there was going to be to do because they aren't in to Bingo. Here's what I said...
Though I don't have any particular plans made at this time I'm sure to come up with things for people to do if they don't want to play bingo. Maybe I should call this a "Luck o' the Irish Game Rally" instead. A couple of other thoughts running through my head were to make this rally like a fair and have silly/fun games of chance...maybe hosted at different trailer sites (set up by me or you) so we'd trailer tour and game at the same time. Or we could have a corn hole tournament. Or a treasure hunt. Of course we'd do the usual meal gatherings/pot lucks and how can you have a St Patty's Day rally without some adult beverages? Irish coffee anyone? In any case, a lot will be dependent upon how many people may come plus I will send out an email to let people vote on and/or suggest ideas.
I don`t know Robin`s reason for cancelling, but Bo and I took a ride through the camping spots and we were not impressed at all. Halfway through the campground we decided we wouldn`t camp here. Have to say though that the shop and the staff are super nice and very obliging.
