Tackling trailer lights this weekend.
You guys talking about the trailer brake colors, I have green and red (braided together) coming from my brakes. I suppose this is a stupid question but where should they be terminated using a 4 flat?

You can not operate brakes with a 4 way flat. 4 way wiring has a Ground, LT, RT and Tow/marker lighting. No room for brake wiring.
You will need a 7 way system, cord and plug to operate the brakes.

If the four way flat is run the length of the trailer, You will need to add an additional wire for the brakes.

Umm ....because of the title, when I first read this I also thought the OP was talking about trailer brakes but I think they are referring to brake lights.....maybe the OP can clarify?

You're right Jardin! She may have been asking about brake LIGHT wiring... Please do clarify, @mcal67.
If the above is true, then RT and LT (turn wiring) operate the brake lights. There isn't a separate wire for brake lights.
Test the tail lights. The brighter bulb filament is your RT or LT. Duller filament is TM or Tail running lights and Markers.
