I try to keep up with Craig's List just to see what's out there and at what prices. I'm seeing lots and lots of puttied and painted trailers with cheap Home Depot flooring going for between $9800 and $16,000. I just can't believe that people are paying these kinds of prices for rolling junk. Out of 50 trailers I see just one that still has the birch paneling and can't really tell if the trailer was rebuilt or a barn find.
This is the same kind of thing I'm seeing at rallies also. A good majority of them are puttied and painted. Our hobby has been taken over by greedy flippers and they are claiming that their trailers are rare or unique. What a pile! It disgusts me to no end.

The worst are the $5000-$7000 campers. They look good (not great) with paint barely hiding the filler and spray foam.

Man, I am pulling out the Kleenex box tonight. This is the second post by Larry that made me cry tonight. Well, not really, but it's sad. All Larry's observations in his above post make me sad. Bummer. Rod

There is an old saying, "little putty, little paint makes a carpenter what he ain't ". Change that to ...makes a camper what it ain't.

There is an old saying, "little putty, little paint makes a carpenter what he ain't ". Change that to ...makes a camper what it ain't. A real carpenter has no need for putty or paint. I was a finish carpenter for years and learned under the best. We we didn't even carry putty with us. All of our joints were tight. We did stain grade work and never needed putty.
