Well our first rally has come and gone and we had such a great time. We met a lot of wonderful people and got some great ideas. I didn't realize how exhausting it can be to talk about your trailer and answer everyone's questions all day, but it was worth it. We hope to go to many rallies in the future. Here is a link to the full album of my photos this weekend. I only had my good camera with me on one of my walks around and didn't get photos of everyone's trailers. Next time that will be a priority, but I was just having too much fun to worry about pictures. flic.kr/s/aHsm36eNGrLink says UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS...

Link says UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS... How about now? Sorry about that. Nice. And it looks like my idea of a good rally. One thing you will notice that a lot of the trailers are not what you would call perfect. And that's OK... They don't have to be. The only one who needs to be satisfied with a trailer is the owner. All I ask of people is to make sure they are safe so that innocent people don't get hurt or killed. Other than that, beauty is in the eye of the owner. If you are satisfied with your trailer then it was a successful build. Thanks for sharing with us Dave. Looks like you had a great time.

Thanks for sharing your pictures Dave. I especially like the shots of the trailers taken at night. I Love the trailer with the boat on top!

Thanks for sharing your pictures Dave. I especially like the shots of the trailers taken at night. I Love the trailer with the boat on top! That trailer with the boat on top meets all the requirements to be called a Teardrop. Can't stand up in it and has an outdoor access galley. I love those things. My friends from Tinker-Tin Trailers have two of them.

It's a Kompak Sportsman. They're still manufactured- there's a guy with the original toolings selling new ones at the Portland swap meet every year. Very nice looking little trailers. One thing to keep in mind is that the boat is the roof- when you're out on the water, it's open to the elements. There was a another manufacturer of a similar trailer (also still available new) called a Trailorboat, with a more squared-off tail and a roof separate from the boat, although not quite as pretty as the Kompak.
