So rewiring for 7 way and found the PO had an invertor installed but used solid 10 ga 2/1 sheathed wire. So want to change to recommended 8 ga strand wire per original owners manual. Problem is the wiring routes into the trailer interiorly and comes out thru the wall to the invertor. Has anyone had luck attaching the new wire to the end of the old and pulling it thru? Worried because the solid wire is so stiff it won't come out or I will lose the new wires in the wall. Appreciate the help.

That is a great question and the answer is some times you can and sometimes you can't.

I have soldered a new wire to the old before pulling it through. Then shrink tape and or electrical tape the joint, everything to make sure it doesn't come apart, but still skinny enough to pull through. I agree it just depends maybe maybe not. I just make sure i can go back to the way it was if the new doesn't work, or decided how commited you are to fixing the issue, As in run the wires a different route or pull the skin.

I would consider bypassing the existing PO wire. It's fairly easy to drill a small hole in the floor and go up and into where you need it. I usually use the front dinette. Seal the bottom with putty or caulk and secure inside with a staple or clamp.
