Got the step-sons four wheeler loaded on Wednesday evening, now this was a week ago already. LOL Hitched to the camper and was all ready for an early getaway. IMG_3264 by Martin Draper, on Flickr well, that didn`t work out so well either, I did not awaken until 7:30 am. The drive to Red Lodge went very well. No parts blew off of the camper and it handled flawless behind the pickup. Here is a pic of the building that the inlaws had rented for them to stay in. IMG_3265 by Martin Draper, on Flickr I spent a lot of time in the camper and slept in there too. Being that we were the second ones to arrive, I spied this nice little piece of the driveway that would be out of the way of the traffic. to get into this spot, I backed the camper on the road, about a 1/4 mile, then, not much room on the intersecting road and weird angles managed to get it all turned around and backed it all back in and parked in this spot. IMG_3267 by Martin Draper, on Flickr And another view across the valley. There is still snow on those hills. IMG_3269 by Martin Draper, on Flickr I am now out of photos of that journey. Everyone had a good time and on Saturday, the wifey and step-son and I went for a drive over the Bear Tooth pass and on to Cook City. coming back out of Cook City, we run into torrential down pour of rains, sleet and snow with slush building up on the roads. there were a LOT of motorcycles and I pray that they all made it through okay.

The Step-son took a Friday trip into Glacier Lake with His four wheeler. these are pics that he too as He went along. IMG_3271 by Martin Draper, on Flickr IMG_3272 by Martin Draper, on Flickr And then Glacier lake itself. IMG_3273 by Martin Draper, on Flickr IMG_3274 by Martin Draper, on Flickr It makes Me wonder how the concrete was hauled into the lake. the closest road is about two miles away. It must have been hauled in with a helicopter. IMG_3275 by Martin Draper, on Flickr That is all I have from this adventure. the camper is very comfortable to sleep in and was greatly enjoyed. I thank everyone for their support in helping Me get this all put together. Martin Next project of this sort will be the 8 foot pickup box size camper. I will create a thread of that build too. My brotherinlaw asked about if He would pickup an older airstream if I would fix it up for Him, My reply, after being in this forum, was NO. LOL

Great trip! I love red lodge and bear tooth area. About 10 yrs ago we did a 50 mile hike across the beartooth plateau. Amazing hike. Your trailer looks good and sounds like a success. Camper next? Good idea. I'd kind of like to do an Alaskan pop up some day if I hold out. We borrowed a 60's vintage Alaskan from my sister in law once for a Montana trip. Real nice. Sadly she gave it away. But they're still around for free or cheap. Thanks for sharing your trip.

The one sign We seen at the top of the summit, I think, was 9,750 feet. dont quote Me on that though. I was driving and just got a quick glimpse of it. An Alaskan pop up would be a real nice little camper. the box camper I have is not a popup but it doesnt stick up much above the cab. Now that I`m thinking about it, I should load it onto the pickup tomorrow and bolt it down, then that much would be accomplished. Next step would be to set it on the little trailer, then, into the garage with it. OH wait, I still have a steering column to rebuild for a guy, better get that thing done first. It`s on a ford, so, i`m not looking forwards to that job. LOL Thank ou for the reply nccamper
