I need to buy a small vent to cover over the old heat exhaust. I would prefer to paint it the same color as the trailer but just want to check if there is any issue with it being stainless steel, as that is what the one I am looking at is made out of.

I've seen many posts here that say paint will not stick to stainless, but I used all s.s. screws and the paint hasn't failed in 3 years. I think that if you can rough up the surface a bit and wipe it down with solvent it'll be fine.

Make sure that you use a quality metal primer on the bare metal before you paint with the final color and you should be fine.
