Foot pumps are common on boats. I too have thought they'd be great in a trailer. Whale is a good brand.

Cool idea. If I hadn't gotten my hand pump working, this would have been a nicer replacement than the terribly low quality rocket pumps available today.

I need to replace or fix my hand pump, but I'm wondering if there's any reason you can't have a foot pump in line with a hand pump? It would be really nice to have both, especially since I would probably hide the foot pump as you did. Anyone know if there would be any problem with running both in series?

I don't really know the mechanisms of the hand pump. Is there a way to leave it on so that the water could flow through it when you're using the foot pump?
Alternatively, maybe you could have two lines to the main water source?
I will say, a year later and the foot pump is still one of my favorite additions. I tow my camper down to TX in the winter and live in it full time, and I cook most meals, so I do a lot of dishes and this makes it so much easier.
I realized after posting this last year that the spigot I was refilling my 3-gallon jug at didn't allow me to fill it fully. When I have a full three gallons I go 2-3 days between refills.

Now that I have actually used my hand pump I really think windborn is on to something with this foot pump. I have many time wished I had both my hands available at the sink. Its really hard to do much when your using one of your hands to pump. Im not sure the cabinet layout will allow for it in the Airflyte. It would have to be over one cabinet. The standard vintage hand pump has a ball that moves up and down when you pump. My guess is it's possible for the foot pump to move the metal ball up and down but there is only one way to know for sure.

That's what i was thinking. I've got to get mine apart since it's not working anyhow, i would assume it has a similar check valve in it.

Its really hard to do much when your using one of your hands to pump. Im not sure the cabinet layout will allow for it in the Airflyte. It would have to be over one cabinet. I don't know what's under that door beneath the sink, but it looks like you could maybe cut out a little section for the pump? Mine is mounted on a board that's not mounted to the floor, which makes it easy to move for cleaning. But you could probably make it so that you could take it in and out when you need it (provided the "pipes" are long enough). They also sell these kinds of foot pumps that only have a little lever sticking out and you hide the rest behind something.
