Here is a link to a new company, called Paradise Coast RV, in Benton Harbor, Michigan. They are building a modern take on the canned ham classic, with unitized aluminum frame and more upscale selections of interior fabrics and colors. The website is lacking any info on pricing or lead time, but the photos are interesting. I'm certain their products are in the 20-25K range, but keep in mind that a 1960 Shasta Deluxe cost about $1200, which translates to about $9500 in 2013 dollars. Looks interesting. i hope they are sucessful. vogeltalksrving.com/2011/03/old-is-new-again-new-retro-rv-manufacturer/

I really like the fact that they are using metal siding on the outside. That will last SOOOOOO much longer and be SOOOOOO much more trouble free than the FRP and membranes that they have been using on new models for the last 10 years or so. I also like the wood panel interiors. Of course I would never own one.
The Amish are the ones who started the idea of brand new retro trailers. They started with a copy of the Serro Scotty. Then So Cal Teardrops started making the Teardrop trailers brand new. Then TAB came out with their piece of junk. But these look pretty dang nice. Well thought out and I bet they are well built..... I would like to inspect one in real life. With a proper production line these could be made in numbers with real quality.

These look very sweet. I'd be tempted if I had an extra $25,000 sitting around, but then how would I get my hands dirty and make my back hurt if I didn't have a trailer to work on.

I like the interior fabrics and the layouts. Wish one could see inside pics. Wonder why they don't show any on the site. Guessing they are still in serious start up mode. Wish them well. A couple of key differences to our trailers (mostly) 3000 dry weight and 8 ft width.

Factory orders are being taken. Two models in production, the 18 and 24 foot. 16 week lead time. Considerable savings prior to dealer network formulation. Very nice trailer. The owner is a vintage trailer owner. He owns a 1964 Avilar.

Then TAB came out with their piece of junk. T@B's were originally made by Dutchman and have issues. Now they are owned by Little Guy, in Ohio and made by Amish at Pleasant Valley Trailers, Sugar Creek, OH. The new models do not have the same issues. They have the best customer service ever and stand by their warranties, 100%, and they have helped many with their problem Dutchman T@B's. Sorry, for the rant, but I know these people and have personally been to their factory. My LG was made before the present owners acquired the company and even so, they fixed it for me this past summer when I was on the road and it started falling off of the frame.

I hope they are putting real tongue jacks on them now instead of the cheapo bolt ons they were using. That was the first problem I came across with one. Dang.... falling off the frame can be a real issue.

Mobilltec, they are built on entirely different frames. Not sure about the tongue jacks, but T@D@s definitely have a common tongue problem. We have a friend who bought a T@D@ which is no longer made, but it's a T@B without the teardrop shape, and only made by Dutchman. She picked it up in Cali and was towing it back to Philly and the tongue bent while she was on the road. Must have actually been the coupler.

We all love our vintage trailers but there are also those who appreciate the retro style combined with today's amenities. Paradise Coast was created for two reasons, to offer those with the desire to own "new", a retro travel trailer option and to preserve real vintage trailers like the ones we own. Those who desire new can purchase new retro rather than to be required to purchase & restore a vintage travel trailer in order to share the retro lifestyle. This preserves the older true vintage trailers for those of us who enjoy the chase, restoration and preservation that everyone of us appreciate so much.
