Hello,
I am seriously looking at the new, low profile Noria air conditioner that I believe I can fit in to a modified window when needed. I have a small 1973 Shasta 1400. Do you think this 5000 btu system is adequate? I know it is rated for 150 square feet but trailers are hot business. Thoughts?
Thanks,
Paul

They are scheduled to come out in the spring, aren't they? I checked out their site and it's very promising idea.
I think 5000 BTUs would be plenty if you don't have a giant vent for a refrigerator set down low. If you do, the cold air may just roll straight out of the camper no matter what the BTU size. But something is better than nothing, know what I mean?
In North Carolina there is no camping in the summer without an AC. So I'm wrestling with the same issue.

I have a 5000 BTU Window AC unit and it does cool, but not like my buddies 13800 BTU rooftop unit. At night it keeps it comfortable, but on really hot humid days (like most summer days in Iowa), it is just enough to be comfortable. If I were to do it over again, I would go bigger.
But, I hate hot/humid weather!!

Our Compact has a small 5000 btu by LG and it does great. The true test came in the middle of Summer when we had to keep the temp cool enough for our doggies for several hours. It had no problems. It was very nice in fact. I can't see you being terribly unhappy with one of that size even though your camper a little bigger, its the least invasive thing to me it seems next to that marvel of a product Noria. I too have been eyeballing that thing. Will be nice if and when it does come out so there doesn't have to be any windows sacrificed. But again I had no issues with my size unit and it did great in July in Alabama. Little trooper.
