That looks great, I like how secure you made it. I havent seen that style before, where did you buy it? do you have a link to the page? 9x16 All-Purpose Monarc Canopy
Above is the link. It's the only one I found with the bowed roof framing or in this smaller size. I also liked the black tube structure and tan tarp on top. Looks appropriate next to my adobe house . This is where I got the mesh tarps and bungees: Mesh Tarps - 10 oz Vinyl Coated Mesh Tarps - Solid Color - 50% Shade Mesh Tarps. They reduce UV and light by 50% which protects the paint finish. But it's totally transparent; you can see right through it. Spiral anchors I got via Amazon and the ratchet straps you can get just about anywhere. I rent my house, so I didn't really have the option of doing something more permanent. If I took the whole thing down, you'd never know anything was ever there.

Here is something I do have experience with. A big part of the reason I ruined, yes ruined, my 1958 Easy Traveler was because i made the mistake of buying one of those cheap piece of Made in China crap Costco Carports. In just a couple of years they look terrible and a couple years later they need new canvas and they can't hold that much snow as I found out. I am now rebuilding my '58 under one of the best purchases I have ever made. Metal Carport! Still 10' x 20' and only $795 (that's 2 Costco ones) and they are built for you and they will raise the height for like $100 extra. Look around and you will see old metal carports that are 30 years old still working great. I bought a singe and double ($1195) when they were on sale for 10% off (every few months) which was the same as not paying sales tax here in WA. Again, one of the best purchases I have made in my 60 years.

I have a metal carport also. Be ABSOLUTELY SURE that your local zoning accepts them and what size. Both my cousin and I had to remove our portable metal carports within a 5 year period. (State of Wa)

Are you taking it with you or is that too much trouble?

I'm taking it with me. It should only take a half day for me to take it down and load it on a flat bed. I'm not leaving anything here except the park model trailer. I'm selling that.

I dig the portability of this "shelter"! What size is your trailer, not including the hitch? Could you tell me the dimensions of your trailer, without the hitch included? I know mine with the vents on top is right around 8.6 ft tall if Im not mistaken. Thanks!

It is 6'6" wide, and about 8' tall

Mel, I'm going to move this to our maintenance section in a few. There's some other threads on shelters...

Hotdog, that sounds great. Where did you purchase / what manufacturer? Not sure of the manufacturer, I think they were made in Oregon, there are several ads on cl for them at all times.

My neighbor bought one of those Tent canopies. We live in Wisconsin. It took 2 hours to drive to get it . 6 hours to unpack and assemble it, we staked it to the ground securely. We went to sleep at 10pm.. It snowed 6 inches then started to drizzle rain. We got up at 8 am and the tent was destroyed -all bent up mess from the weight . We just left it there all winter bent up Badly. Junk!! We paid about 275.00 for it. The next year we bought 10' 2x4's and built a semi A frame structure. Took 8 hours of labor . Covered with tarp . It cost him 229.00 for all materials. That was 5 years ago . It is still like the day we built it ! Dats the Fact Jack !
