Hello! I am a newbie and just purchased my first vintage trailer. I've watched tons of YouTube videos by Mobiltec and others.... And I know it's going to be a slow and often overwhelming process.... But first, I am trying to find out more information about my trailer. I was told it is a 1971. The title states Model "TWIL" and make "TWL". The VIN# has 4 letters and then 4 numbers: COLO 2854. "MARVEL" is also stamped onto the hitch. Looking online, I found a picture of a Gold Star Trailer and it resembles mine exactly!! Does anyone have any information about Gold Star trailers? Thanks so much!

Not much help, but Marvel was the manufacturer of the hitch itself.

TWIL= Twilight Coach Mfg. Perhaps out of Colorado ?? Can't find anything else on them other than they had a model called the Bungalow as did a few other builders..
Just for the fun of it: TWIT-would be Twilite Mobile Home Mfg Note the spelling..

There is another Twilite camper currently for sale on CL. I have run across a couple old canned ham shaped Bungalow campers in the past, but do not remember associating them with Twilite...thanks trailertrasher. As I have mentioned (many times) in the past, I don't do Pinterest, but if you are interested in digging deeper into Twilites you can start by opening this thread. If you slide your pointing finger thingy over the photo it will tell you a bit about the origin of the photo, and then opening the Pinterest sites that feature the Twilites in the photo, like the pretty cool 8X5 Twilite Bungalow teardrop pic. Of course many of the photos in this kind of search are not Twilites, but by sliding the pointer onto the pic, you can see how it is titled and if the poster is claiming it is a Twilite. Sometimes you can get additional info under the Pinterest photo by clicking that more spot. Seems like there are a few Twilites out there. My first thought when I saw yours is that it looks like a Little Dipper kinda, and I like the Dippers. search.aol.com/aol/image?q=vintage+Twilite+camper&s_chn=prt_bon&v_t=comsearchTeardrop, which is not actually shaped like a teardrop photo...for example. media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/a6/db/bf/a6dbbfe9dbdf4956c14a06536cc1d779.jpgjust some lagniappe on Little Dippers www.facebook.com/littledippertraveltrailers

I had a twilight bungalow trailer. Built in Oklahoma, so might be two different companies and spelled differently. this one is definitely not one like I had.

Hey there, I think I might be owning one of these same canned hams soon as part of a real estate deal. I am posting the pics I have, including the serial plate. This little camper looks rough on the outside and is gonna need some TLC, but as of now its locked with a padlock and I cant get in to see what it looks like inside. Do you have more pice you can post of what I might find inside? I peeked in one of the windows and saw a partition...is there a small bathroom in there? I know there must be a furnace or something, as I see the vent on the back. Anyway, how is your project going along? Provided my deal goes through next week, I am excited to get in there and see it! Cheers!

Gold Start was manufactured in Loveland, Colorado until 1975 or76. I worked there in the mid 60's. This is a later unit after I left. You trailer has the newer sheet metal. The earlier trailer had the metal and design painted on. Larry

I wish we had more people like you around who could serve as primary sources for history of mid vintage trailers. Vee, So, please share your progress since your first post. Cheers, Rod

Hi, not knowing if I can contact you from this post. I was interested in locating this company, or where they might have moved to or even bought out by another company. I have been looking around for a few reasons regarding this company. I wanted to know if this was just a company that was (orphaned after 1975) like the NADA book of values. We are trying to redo a trailer, and we were told that was what the Original companys name was. Not the Twilite company that your mentioned. I was also once told the company was absorbed and also moved to Elkhart, Indiana. I hope you are still around....

My father owned Gold Star in the 50's and 60's. It went out of business and was purchased my other men and then sold in the early 70's. I still have design drawing and some adverts for the company.
