I had heard that one way you can find out the year of your trailer is by looking at the back of the mirror, if you still have the original. So since I had to remove the mirror to sand the panel door front, I wanted to check it out. Sure enough, found another cool "time stamp"! It says 3 31 58 Does anyone know what that specific date was for when they stamped the mirror?

Probably the date the mirror was "finished". There might have been a guarantee back in the day...

I also found several places in my trailer where the date had been stamped onto the paneling. Seemed to be for the paneling itself.

One thing I've noticed, is how every little piece of hardware is stamped with the manufacturer's name and place of manufacture (i.e., "Chicago U.S.A."). We used to take pride in the things we made, even if it was only a hinge or a tiny metal bracket. Nice not to see "Made In China" on anything!

Our trailer was titled as a 1965 but we later learned this could not be right. It is a canned ham with a wooden screen door. I looked under the sink and it is stamped 1962. We are going with 1962 for her build year but the title will stay a 1965. I do not go near the DMV unless I have to. LOL
