thanks for getting back so fast but I have looked at that link. looking at picture of shut off do you think that small tube that runs to main burner is supply for pilot lite and if it is do you think it be pluged

It is highly possible that insects or spiders have left residues behind, and the orifices and lines are tiny enough that it does not take a lot to plug them off. Also the chimney that vents the exhaust is susceptible to plugging. Cleaning can usually be done with just compressed air, but be very careful of the burner head. One of those aerosol cans of compressed air for cleaning electronics, can be helpful.
I do not think the burner is supposed to go on and off by the thermostat. I do not believe there is a pilot, besides the ignition pilot (mine had a "zip-tube" ignition). But that may be only on the one that I have had the opportunity to play with.

I do not think the burner is supposed to go on and off by the thermostat. This^ My Morphy doesn't have a pilot, just the zip tube for lighting it and the thermocouple/safety switch to shut the gas off if the burner goes out. I'm (all too) familiar with the 3-way/propane Norcolds that come in '90s VW Eurovans - the temperature control only regulates the size of the flame, governing energy input into the system, the burner never shuts off and there is no pilot.

I am very curious about this topic. I have a super ancient looking fridge in my trailer that runs amazing on 110 and makes ice, but is untested on propane. I am planning to pull it out during the restoration, and maybe even pay the local RV company to test the propane line on their bench. I don't want to tackle much to do with gas appliances on my own, but I would love to be informed when I hire someone.

I still am tring to figure out how the system works. like I said when I lite it it works great until it reaches the temp set on the thermostat then it shuts the gas off to burner and flame goes out. that is why I thought it had a pilot that was not lighting. maybe like some one said the thermosat is only suppose to lower the flame. that would make sense. maybe the thermostat is not letting burner have enough gas to stay lit. hope to come up with right answer to problem
