Even though the Goblin is only 13' long, it is a little fatty, and I realized when towing it home for the first time, I wasn't comfortable with what I could see behind with the Tacoma's stock side view mirrors. I am used to towing with full sized trucks in the past, and accustomed to seeing a bit more of what is behind me, and whatever I am towing. With a 4 banger towing the trailer, I know I am not going to be exceeding the state(CA) mandated 55 mph for trucks towing trailers, but I also know that most drivers are going to be going faster, even if the posted limit is 55. I want to know when someone is coming up behind me, before they start to cross the dotted line. Anyone have any experience with extensions? Recommendations? I have been looking around, and there are many different kinds, but the overall favorite seems to be this one: www.ksource.org/Towing-HitchingProduct.asp?Lavel=3&Category=Universal&ID=78&ProductNo=3891

I tow with a Silverado but use mirror extensions very much like the ones you refer to, purchased mine at Oreily's a couple of years ago. They work great.

That hadn't occured to me. In this instance, low tech appeals to me. I did look into them though, so thanks for presenting me with a different option!

I picked up a set of the CIPA slide on extension mirrors. They are sized for each make/model and fit rather sung on my '04 Dodge. There is still a little bit of vibration which causes the mirror to be just a little blurry, but they do work to get an idea of what's behind you.
