and did you buy a special spray gun??? Any info on the process would be greatly appreciated.. We are almost at that point too??

Wow, so many questions! I actually did the priming; the tractor paint only needs primer where there is bare metal, so it just took one spray can to do the entire trailer. It's the same brand primer as the paint, bought at the same place. We'd heard that tractor paint is very sturdy and doesn't ever need to be waxed, guess we will find that out. They have some nice choices of colors, just not as many as Rustoleum or automotive paint. I think it was a good trade-off, we're sure happy with the end result. And not a single drip or run on the entire trailer! The Z-stripe had never been painted, it was just the bare-naked aluminum. So we kept it that way, didn't even try to polish it. Made things easy, and I think it looks good that way. My smart husband came up with a good method: mask the z-stripe with Frog Tape, tape the plastic to it so it hangs downward, but then pull it up and secure it over the top half. That way you can spray the bottom first, let it dry, then simply drop the plastic back down over it and spray paint the top. Worked like a charm!

This definitely went well.  And from my vantage point (a lawn chair, in the shade) it seemed comparatively simple.  The prep work took two full days, though.

I know! It makes me want to go paint or sew something. Lol.
