I am going to start taking my compact apart this weekend. I just wanted try to get a list of supplies together before I start, so that I can dive right into replacing rotted wood with out a run to home depot. What size wood framing is in the compact? other stuff you think I will need??

The framing is all 1 x 2s but they are not the exact size of modern 1 x 2's. A modern 1 x 2 is 3/4" x 1 1/2". The old one are a little wider, can't remember for sure but I think they are 1 3/4 or a true 2". If want to be exact, you'll have to rip your own from a 1x4. For the most part, I didn't have a problem with the modern size. The odd shaped framing in the curves will have to be cut from wider boards if you need to replace it. Best thing to do is get the skin off and take a look at what you will need for the parts that need repairing. You'll be taking out screws and nails for quite a while before you get to the framing.

SusieQ your right, so many screws I may not even get to any framing this weekend, especially since I work Saturday and that will eat up most of my day. I'll be happy if I even get the skin off
