My camper trailer was parked. Someone backed into the door and smashed it in. It has been reported to their auto insurance company and they are going to pay for damage. I have not talked to the insurance company yet I should hear form them soon. I will check with camper world I think they do body repairs. Aluminum is stretched pretty bad I don't think it can me hammered flat again. Bondo will not work on this thin metal.
Does anyone have suggestions?

Does anyone have suggestions? Get a quote for a custom fabricated door. Take the insurance money and buy yourself some trailer skin and fix it yourself. I assume this is the door you already rebuilt just recently.

Bummer.
With a piece of new skin with the right break you can make a door. It's not that hard. I made the door on my latest Shasta. I agree that Bondo would be a mistake.

If I had the aluminum I can make a door easy. I can not make the recessed window pocket. Here is the door a few months ago when I took it apart and rebuilt the whole thing inside with new rubber around the glass. You need a punch press die to form the aluminum for the window.

Would replacing only the bottom, mating the new and old with pop rivets be an option? You could almost just tack the new on top of the dent.

We had Hamlet's skin replaced at Camper World. We had interviewed and scoped out several other places, and the folks at CW were the most enthusiastic about the work. It turned out great. That being said, when you said it was smashed, did you mean that the door is damaged all the way through, wood and framing and all? If that is the case, you may want to redo the framing yourself, then take it to CW or somewhere else to do the window and skin.

I bet there's a way to form that window without special tools, it's just no one has thought of it yet. Like that guy who did skin brakes with a couple of pieces of angle iron.
