We are going to Moonshine Creek Campground NC Maybe next week. We are ready to go camping now. There are lots of camp grounds in the area we plan to spend 1 or 2 nights at each one for a few weeks. We need to be home in time to pick garden ripe tomatoes. I would really be interested in an end-of-trip report on NC campgrounds. Maybe a few photos of the favorites and why you liked them?

We could still plan something near VA/NC at another time. P.S. Are you doing MerleFest this weekend? Could kick myself for finding out too late that John Prine is playing. I have a Sat. commitment and can't do. Next year, it's on my list. Hello you, no we did not go this year.. It's getting pricey and we have a new addition to the family..An Aussie Shepard at 8 weeks was a little early for the party. My sister and her husband made it up and said it was a blast. We are making plans tonight to hit Douthat park in VA in either July or August though. Tatiana has seen very little of the Virginia's and I think that will be good place for base camp. See the Natural Bridge, snoop around a few other places. Do you know anything about the park? It looks quite right for place and time. New Bern is next week and we have a good crowd there. You outta drive down.. Yes, I have camped at Douthat. It was about 4 years ago. It is not my favorite but it is a really nice park. And it has very nice beach for swimming and I think you can rent kayaks, too. It's been about 12 years since I've been to Natural Bridge but it is interesting and quite beautiful. There's a small cavern there, too, so take that tour, too. But no high expectations, it's a really small cavern but has a good story. You should come closer my way and visit Monticello (Thomas Jefferson's home). And Madison and Monroe's, too. Also lots of great wineries near us.

You know, I am not sure if I am alone here but the wife and I with camping reach our threshold right around 70 degrees, after that the experience is just too warm. Who wants to sweat by a fire? My fave camping days are any that require a sweater. Hehe. That's the best thing about the mountains, wont crack much past 75 in June even. Awesome. Wish we had that in FL. Hope you guys enjoy whatever is arranged, we just had our relaxing time in NC. You are our people. We camp Fall-Winter-Spring but not Summer. Co-workers are always shocked. Outside of the parks being packed in the summer, we don't like the heat. Much easier to warm up than cool off. People in my camping FB groups are just taking thier first trips of the year. We shut it down and stored it a few weeks back. Already have our fall rallies and weekends booked.
