I use to avoid Death Valley I figured it was a big flat nothing desert but Death Valley is amazing you can spend a whole week there and not get board for 5 seconds. There are several MUST SEE places.
The camp ground is like a golf course, green grass, trees, water, electric, sewer, very nice.
Death valley is a town with a post office and grocery store.
Visitor center is nice, interesting and the rangers are very helpful with information and maps.
Scotties Castle is a great place. There is a gas station there too. This is a very interesting place.
Titus Canyon is totally awesome drive slow, stop many times, have a picnic lunch, spend the day.
The old Borax Mine and Kingman Gold mine are a do it yourself walk/hike and interesting.
Bad Water is an amazing place you don't want to miss.
Rhyolite ghost town NV is on the east edge of Death Valley spend the day and have fun.
There are drives through the hilly areas with abandon gold towns and abandon gold mines. Take a flashlight horizontal shaft mines in solid rock are fun to explore but stay out of mines that are not solid rock. Be careful around vertical shaft mines don't fall in.
One of the very best places in this area is ROGER SPRING 2 hour drive east on the west edge of Lake Mead 3 miles from the lake. Volcanic hot spring pool with picnic area and public restrooms. 100 degree water comes out of the mountain, fills the 100 foot diameter pool, over the water fall, then across the desert to Lake Mead.
Do Google search for all these places, look at all the photos.
Look at Death Valley camp ground on Google Map satellite view.
