Hi all, glad to have found you !! CLICK TO VIEW IMAGES------------------------------------------------------------------------ linkIm new to this canned sickness,, ive wanted a vintage trailer for a long time and this one fell into my lap... I live in Westminster, Co my newest addition to my project pool is a 1957 ALJO (at least that what is was told ??) a few issues ive noticed upon my initial going over. the front windows have been removed and filled with FRP, and paneled over on the interior. the fram stills is there .the area on the lower left of the door is rotted. it has the jailhouse windows on every window.all the drawers and storage doors are thin birch 1/8" ? im not sure if this is original, it appears to be a bit cheap.it has the retractible cot sleeping/storage set up on each end of the trailer interior a small cook top and a refrigerator under that. in the front the original gas light fixture is still there, along with sighns of burnt wood !!! shes pretty complete, a little rough. though..
Welcome to the lunacy and from the looks of the photos you have a nice little Aljo there. Yes that's an Aljo. I love smaller trailers myself. Would love to see photos of the inside. Your window in front can be repaired without too many problems. If the metal strips that hold the glass in are still there you have no problems. I have videos on how to remove those strips without hurting them and how to put new glass in so it won't leak. If you don't have the metal strips I believe they can be made with a hand brake. Of course the hand brake will need to be large enough to handle the long ones for top and bottom. I want to do a video on making those soon.
Let's see some photos of the inside.

That logo looks original to me. Although some of it seems to be missing in the front where it is supposed to say Aljo in the circle. So it could be something else but looks like the Aljo logo. Do you have a title?

Yes I have title but it is a listed as a home made ? Someone must have lost the original .. And the De-Ville series is the one I watched I'll have to take a look at all the others.

The Deville series is my oldest and I've improved a lot of techniques over time as I learned more. Remember I'm no pro but I'm getting better at this all the time. I've learned a heck of a lot right here on this forum.

Mobiltec I am watching thr Shasta series, and the sound board( celotex ) appears to be a roofing underlayment. We use it at work, and it is available through modest roofing supply warehouses. We call it recovery board and 1/2" is the standard thickness ,, You probably already know this ,,, but I thought I would let know anyway.. Robert H

Robert H What I use is "sound board" used underneath dry wall for sound proofing between apartments or condos. I was a dry wall hanger for 10 years. I have no idea what they use on roofs. But the original stuff used in these trailers was called Cellotex.

After watching a bit more of your video, I saw where you found it at HD It's all the same stuff, only difference is the stuff I get Has a black coating on one side. Upon watching your tutorials, I becoming less intimidated on tearing into this project !!! Have you had. Any luck sanding out slight water stains, ? Thanks again , Robert H

And you can bleach out major stains with Ocsilic Acid. You can get that at Ace Hardware. HD may have it I don't know. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS....
The sound board with a black coating on one side would be much better to use. Where do you get it?

Hello, I'm a newbie, I just inherited an Oasis (not sure of the model). I was told the year is 1977, but as far as I've researched it looks like the Oasis Donhal inc. company only existed until 1969. If anyone can identify the model and year of this trailer I would be very grateful. Best, Jessica

Hi Jess, and welcome to the forum. That doesn't look like any Oasis I ever saw. I mostly deal with 50s canned hams but this looks more like a Boles Aero or something. Perhaps someone who knows newer and larger trailers can help. You can also submit your photos to a man neamed Juergen who knows the larger trailers. He has a site you can study and if you email him these photos he will probably recognize it right away. His site is "All Manufactured Homes" www.allmanufacturedhomes.com/Hope that helps...
