SusieQ hahaha that's funny, this keeps happening with us. nccamper I already scratched one of the handles so I think in the long run spray paint is not going to be good for them. if im scratching them before there in the camper I cant imagine how much worse they will look after a few years of use. I think my cheap ass is going to break down and spend the $30 on new handles.

My hub caps are/were very pitted and although the chrome is not peeling, the surfaces were so rough I took 'em to the wire wheel. The surfaces are now smooth but have many pin holes so next is some glazing putty (bondo makes one), light sanding, and when I prime I will see if they are smooth enough for the killer-chrome. I'll have to wait a bit longer because my spray booth is the backyard picnic bench and it's still winter here in Ohio.
