Getting ready to put the skin back on my trailer but there is some oxidation on the inside of the skin. Can I just sand it off or do I need to do a chemical treatment or something to keep it from coming back?
Thanks for any input

You mean the white stuff? You can leave that if you want, it won't harm anything, I don't think. I was thinking that your paint was oxidized, in which case, you'd need a good automotive polish. Good luck with getting the skin back on!

Yes the white stuff. Won't it make pin holes if left to grow?
Thank

It sounds like it's pretty bad. Yes, eventually it will corrode through, but I don't know how long that takes. The inside of ourskin wasn't bad at all, so I hope someone else will chime in.

Wire brush or sand and then paint with primer. It works very well to stabilize the aluminum. I do this to all of my skins.
Also, if you have some nasty holes, Sticky Weatherproofing tape on the underside will seal them. Don't plan on Bondo for taped holes, tho. It doesn't stick as well.
