Can I simply replace the bare aluminum ground wire attached from the trailer to the breaker box with bare copper wire?

Yes, if the aluminum is in poor condition. I use the original aluminum ground if it's OK. No reason to change. Copper is good, too. 10 gauge or bigger on both.

Thanks for your info, my aluminum ground was right under a water leak from the celing so it definetly corroded and broke off. I am going to get a copper wire that looks the same. Its like a braided copper because the aluminum was like that. The copper will fit right in the same spot.

Braided copper ground wire is available from most ham radio suppliers in gauge equivalents of 7 to 12 ga solid wire
