['70 Shasta Compact] So, I assume this has something to do with plumbing. Not sure. So obviously to the left is the city water inlet and gray water drain from the sink. But I do not know what the thing on the right is. It doesn't go to anything inside. It looks like an upside down vent with a plastic, sort of cover on it. Inside, its just the fitting poking through the wall in the closet, about 1-1/4" - 1-1/2" in size I guess. Any idea what this could have been? Maybe a gravity feed for a non-existant fresh water tank (also, the hand pump faucet is gone as well). Or a vent for a porta-potty (not sure how those work). Very confused. Its also been plugged with...aluminium foil. Yes. Foil. I don't know. Not exactly leak proof. Thanks. ~Jose

I believe it is a gravity feed that would fill a fresh water holding tank that usually fed the hand pump you say is missing. They are fairly expensive to replace. If it doesn't "bother" you, I'd leave it where it is. It is authentic and original.

I am certain it was the fill port for the fresh water tank. If someone did or planed to replace the tank with a pressure system it would no longer work. Also a lot of people disconnected them because they was afraid someone would pour something into their water supply.

I'll third or fourth or fifth... gravity water fill. YOu should find "shadows" of an old tank inside the closet against the streetside wall, and evidence that this part led to that tank. LEAVE IT!! (just my opinion...)

Thanks for the help! I'll leave it as is, but I'll have to plug the other side properly. Thanks again!
