I thought I would share this piece of yellowed, hand-typed paper from the manufacturer containing grounding instructions for my trailer. It is stapled inside the closet. I am going to be replacing the walls but have every intention of saving this document and mounting it in the same location after the rebuild. It relays the dangers of not grounding the trailer, with suggestions to use copper wire and attach it to underground pipe systems, or attached to a steel plate you must bury 4 ft down or attached to a rod you must bury 8 feet deep. Did people really do this 60 years ago? Just thought it was kinda cool, too bad other parts of the trailer did not survive as well as this!

When you have that loose, could you possibly have it scanned so that the digital version could be saved in the ether for future folks to see? That is a great piece of the history of these trailers and what they represented in their day. Saving it digitally as well as framing the original document up is a very nice tribute to the past, and the wisdom that sometimes we ignore now.

I will! I will scan it when I get to that portion of paneling, but that could be months away. Great idea to frame it, thanks!

Back in the day, it was common for these trailers to be used and sold as temporary and migrant housing.
