Hey everybody! Restoring a 69 Shasta Compact. Not to original but it'll still be pretty cool...I hope. The water supply was cobbled together as is a lot of other things such as at least 4 gallons of silicone caulking! I bought a supply stop compression fitting, braided hose and a drinking water faucet at Menard's but the compression fitting wont fit onto the copper line coming in to the under-sink cabinet. It sure looks like 3/8"...is there a difference in camper copper line? Trying to avoid re-plumbing to the outside. Thanks in advance.

I had planned to reuse some of the old copper lines on my project by cutting and flaring new ends. However, I found previously frozen water had expanded the copper just enough to keep the fittings from going on.

edog1973 nailed it. Sorry, but you'll probably have to replace all the copper water lines...

I just got done doing this same thing to my winnie. I was able to cut back the copper pipe where it had expanded due to water in the line that had froze. It was about 8 inches back to be exact. Then i could fit the compression fitting over the copper pipe. Then added my braided flex hose.

Yes the middle fitting is what was recommended by the parts dept at Aurora plumbing. Now I really dislike fusing with the plumping...especially copper pipes. So when the guy said do this and you won't have any leaks I went with it:)
