Hello everyone,
I hope I found the right category to post in...this seemed miscellaneous.
I purchased my adorable little Fleetcraft for school last September and have been happy in it. Then the park where I lived decided to remove the common utilities to lower overhead and liability. Since my little home has no shower or toilets of its own, this means I must relocate. And since my recent location was the only park within commuting distance of school that allowed residents under 65 years of age, this means I must sell. I'm really bummed about it, actually.
Does anyone have any advice on where best to post a vintage trailer for sale? I didn't have it long enough to make 50 posts here, so I'm not eligible to post my trailer for sale here. Right now I'm thinking Craigslist.
Based on searching around, I think $4-$4,500 is a fair and ethical price to get for my baby and I do want to try to achieve that; I'm a student and can't afford to undersell. I don't want to oversell either; that wouldn't be right. I had paid $6,500 for her, which I think was a bit steep for the work done although I've been very happy with her. Is there a consensus on whether it's better to sell it person-to-person or to sell it to a dealer to get a fair price?
Additionally, does anyone have any advice for me regarding things potential buyers might expect me to do ahead of time or want to know about? Not being a trailer expert, I'm intending to sell "as is" to put the responsibility on the buyer to satisfy themselves prior to purchase. Would this be considered fair? I've had a good experience with the trailer and I want to be fair and above board but it's not like I have copious amounts of expertise to make absolute assurances.
I would post my rough draft for critique, but I think that's against the rules. It bullets the make, model, size, price, stage and type of tags, type of electrical system, age of the tires, original purchase date and provides a brief description of its condition. Does that cover it all?
Thank you in advance for your input!
