I ask a lot of questions about campers for sale and I've realized there is a new dictionary created by (I assume) the vintage camper TV shows.
I was just corrected on something that is now politically incorrect. It is "considered rude to ask if there is rot. It's very derogatory and implies that my camper is no good."
Words like these are now acceptable:
Soft Delaminated Wavy Not 100% Infused
and my favorite (no kidding)
Punky.
"The wood is Punky."
A very nice man gave me that last one this morning. (If you're reading this, please don't take offense.)

That 10 degree deflection in the street side back corner gives the illusion that there may be some support related issues present in the structural design features...

Could the words trashed framing be substituted for rot or maybe junk framing. I have heard the word punky used to refer to rotted wood all my life but many of these old trailers need to be described as ROTTED or in some cases the frame work could be described as dissolved.

I like "organic decomposition" 'cause it sounds healthy. "Spongy" is fun, too.

"Punky" refers to a young lady named Brewster. "ROT" refers to un-restored framing in old stick-n-tin campers. 'Nuff said.

Wow, you're all up on the latest ways to say "rot".
When the man said "Punky but not bad" I had to ask what it meant. He seemed embarrassed for me, like I was mentally challenged.
I went to see a camper recently that the owner swore was solid. I took his screwdriver and put it through the floor. He said, "I meant solid to the touch!"
Wavy came from another camper for sale. I asked over the phone if the walls were straight. I got there and the driver's side wall was buckling badly. He said, "It's just wavy!"

Organic decomposition. We like that one. If it's organic, it must be non-GMO, too!

"Arrested State Of Decay"
This term is actually used in reference to structures that have been made to keep standing a while longer for historical reasons but not safe enough for occupants.
