swampthing , you created a thread here called "I Need Help Navigating This Site." And you have had 3 "posts" or comments in your thread. You are learning. Just try things. Most of us are really friendly and helpful. If you want to try out the "Quote" option, click the "quote" button on this post and write a reply to me. And if my comment was helpful to you, click "Like." Hey, here we are in 2017 and I just picked up this old thread as I search for something else! But I am Newby too and found about the "Quote" so am trying it. Thanks for sharing. Bad enough to be so ignorant about vintage trailers, posting my pictures etc. Still hasn't happened and I'm not computer savy...

I avoided the computer like the plague!
I was forced to purchase a computer for our twin daughters when they were in high school and still refused to touch the key board until they were seniors in high school when one day one of my daughters overheard me talking with a friend on the telephone (Land line) that I couldn't find a part for the car I was restoring and had searched every junkyard in 3 county's in the last year.
She said,"If you will tell me what you are looking for I will find it and I might find it this week"
I ask her,how do you expected to find it and she said the computer and she located the part that day.
Then she showed me a web site that was right up my alley, old cars and although I didn't join the site I lurked for a year and then ask her for help.
I couldn't type,my spelling was atrocious, punctuation was sorely lacking and then it became apparent that in the greater scheme of things all my inability's were secondary, sure there was the occasional English teacher that delighted in correcting me but I eventually dismissed their comments and learned my way around the computer and all the nomenclatures that go with it.
Today I am a member of a multitude of automotive sites and the administrator of the '54 Ford Club off America website.
Everyone starts somewhere,I have learned a lot in the last 15 years but my 9 year old granddaughter is far superior because computers have always been a part of her life.
You will start to pick up all the terms in a short period of time and it will become as effortless as any other task in daily life. Danny

It just takes time to get used to it. You're doing great.

HOTRODPRIMER - You are funny! I am an English teacher and ABHOR social media corrections of grammar etc. (unless of course it cuts into their effectiveness in communication and/or they are trying to be mean....). Your vocabulary is fantastic, BTW. And you won't catch me saying boo about anything....that behavior is just tacky.
