Hope this link works, it is the former owners. Picking her up today. She survived the 2015 Blanco river flood. Her cushions, etc. of course did not. Appears the p.o. took out the bathroom and overhead bunks. so would love pics of original if someone has them. She is missing her fridge, the one in the pics did not survive the rushing water-went for a ride on the rapids I guess. The only leak in the past 15 years was caused due to door not being properly shut so entry floor damage, but not bad. And the thing on the roof was a frame with tin for entry shade, not a permanent fixture so it is already gone. lucyneyens.smugmug.com/Other/1966-Shasta/49636316_BdcDB8#!i=4098413455&k=sMMLh35

Here are the 4 photos I have: I thought I had one of the potty closet in this one, but don't seem to have it after all. It is pretty simple to add, all you are missing is the wall and door, and the "facing" wall was mostly door...and of course the potty. It seems like the Starflytes had a shower option and a water heater in them, and that is only a matter of a little plumbing and waterproofing, if there is a floor drain in that platform area. EDIT: I just found some more photos of this one that had not been loaded to photobucket. I will get those up for you today.

Your link worked LV.. Wow, you have a find! Lots of work but it looks like it's all there.. We can't find nothing in NC. Well, I do know where there is a 1500 out in the bush but it's really rough, and it's been gutted.

I was actually kinda shocked at the condition when I got there. And she had the title. She was asking 800 for it but I got it for 600. So I am feeling lucky today. Ten, thanks for pics. I think it still had the drain, will inspect more when we pick her up this afternoon. These people owned it for 15 years and the previous owner, from New Mexico, was the original owner. Guess the reason it was so dry, coming from NM and then living under the oaks along the river all these years.

Lovnvintage, Nice find. I hope you pulled the metal box storage box from the tongue before towing. I can just see someone with little experience towing, hooks up the trailer and then drives off and around the first bend... Any problems getting her home? Rod

Actually did not remove the tool box, was bolted down good. But made it hard on sharp turns. It is now removed though. We had no trouble with, pulled like new. We had to go and have a tire repaired prior to pulling. It sat thru this years terrible flood a couple weeks ago, on the side of the river, they had it there for 15 years and had removed wheels/tires and put up on blocks. The tires had been stored underneath, well they are down river somewhere now. Owner had some from a different utility trailer and put those on but the tires were not so good. The flood got the door open and took down the apt. fridge they had in it, left it up against the screen door. At least the water entered and exited so mainly just mud to clean out. Have not found evidence of leaks yet.

The model without the shower inside the potty-closet was the later Astroflyte. I had an experience parting one a few summers ago, and was confused by the "astroflyte" name when I first found the listing for it. Remember, the early-60's Astroflytes had the bunk over the hitch, like the Astrodome. I was expecting the bunk-over model, and was looking for parts to help with the canned-ham Airflyte. But I found it to be a gold-stripe version, like the Starflyte.
Shasta seems to have revived the model name when they put together the line that included the Starflyte. In the later part of the 60's when the gold-stripe models were out, they put the model emblems on them, and really distinguished between the models that way. The spear-stripe models didn't have the model emblems, and the distinguishing differences were all in the different layouts.

Well thanks I guess I have an 1966 astroflyte then. I thought they were only domes. glad I found the brochures you posted. Did you see I am getting "another" Shasta this week? I had posted for Elewayne but when I called about it, I was given a price that could not be turned down. It appears to be maybe a 54, didn't save the pics and he pulled the ad after we spoke. He called yesterday to give me tire size and I asked about title. He shocked me and said yes he had it as his mom bought it brand new and he also has the books, paperwork to go with!!!! He left for a fishing trip so I can't go get her till probably Wednesday. He says it is all there but he left the roof vent open so damaged inside.

This may not be all that helpful, but here is the donor Astroflyte I mentioned... This was the potty closet, or as near as I could get to it at the time... As to the question of the model, it was advertised as a parts donor, and named as an Astroflyte in the ad, which got me thinking it was early-60's canned ham. The owner would not have known an Astroflyte from a Model T. Believe it or not, I found the "Astroflyte" emblem still attached to the skin....below where the "Shasta" emblem had been removed. It is here at home in my collection now...

Mine has the Shasta emblem, but I don't think I even saw where the model emblem would have been. They removed the grab handle, but I have a couple in my parts pile. Trying to decide if I want to put potty back in or not. If you decide to part with the emblem, let me know. Probably holding onto for when you get one though, right?
