We acquired a 1973 Field and Stream trailer. It was a working camper when we purchased it, but know little of it's history other than it's passed hands a few times. We have a clean title and she tows well. Before we take her out on the open road we're going to dig around and look for serious rot or structural issues. We hope to have her ready for camping ASAP, with incremental fixes along the way (scraping and replacing all caulk, scraping off the roof tar, rebuild the benches, etc). Our goal is a useful camper for adventuring in Idaho. Our first task is to remove the j-rail and check out the back. We are newbies to vintage trailers, but did remodel our house. Fingers crossed some of those skills are transferable. I'll post some of our progress, and I welcome any advice or tips along the way!
